HOMESCHOOLING ROCKS: WHY PARENTS ARE THE BEST TEACHERS FOR THEIR KIDS
Many haters of homeschooling have the main argument against it: "Parents can't teach, because they aren't teachers, and they don't know subjects well as school teachers do".
Well, let's see why this argument don't work, and why homeschooling destroys it successfully.
- Parents are not professional teachers, and it works NOT agaist but FOR homeschooling
When a kid starts to study a new subject, he is just a beginner, he doesn't have any skills and knowledges, he tries to find his own way of understanding, of seeking the right information, of analysing and remembering it.
Parents are not professional teachers, and they don't know the subject well either, but it's even great! It makes them understand how their kid feels, where the most complicated moments are, which topic is the most difficult to undestand, what questions need to be discussed trwice for better remembering etc.
At school children are far from their teacher, because he knows his subject perfectly well, he repeats this material every day, and it seems to him it's very simple and clear, so he can't look at his subject by the pupils' eyes, and it creates an abyss between them
- Parents don't compare his child with other children
Teachers at school always make comparisons. They have 15-25 pupils in a class, and they must have a common opinion about their skills, and they must put marks making comparison who is better or worse. It means they evaluate not exactly the degree of a kid's progress but how much he is better or worse than others, and it's they way of choosing the marks for him.
Parents have just 1 kid at this very moment (I don't mean twins-), and they make a conclusion about his knowledge only comparing his skills with his past skills: today is better than yesterday, yesterday is better than a week ago etc.
At school the scheme is different: Masha is better than Sasha, so the mark is 4. Oleg is better than Masha so he gets 5. And they don't seem that Masha can be 2-3 or 10 times better than she was a month ago. And she has to get 5 for her diligence. It's HER OWN progress, and Oleg and other pupils have nothing to do here!
- Parents believe in the child, as no one will ever believe
The school system is not interested in the student's achievements, but in his mistakes. That's why the teachers use red pen to correct the mistakes, and attract the attention on them, not on the right answers. In Russia it is so, maybe other countries have denied this method already.
What system do your schools have, friends?
Parents, vice versa, always see any progress of his child, and always pay attention to it! It's their common success, and it's their small victory!
- Parents KNOW their child much better than any good teachers
And it's extremely important! A teacher should know the approach of studying this very topic bu this very pupil in the best way, but school teachers know just common rules and methods of education and use them for all kids, but all children are different!
Looking at the primary school curriculum, I have found out that it contains the knowledge and skills that the child wants to have at this age (read-write-read), but at the same time working off the skills does not match with the ways that the child would liketo use them.
The methods were chosen in a wrong way, and it makes the whole system works with low effectiveness and speed.
Parents can find the right motivation and the right approach, because they KNOW their child.
- Parents are in contact with kids
When parents are involved in the process of education, they keep very deep contactwth the kids: they have common tasks, common goals, common curriculum and even common problems. It creates deep and very strong mutual understanding, which is so hard to be kept by many families.
- Parents love their kids, they need not the marks but the knowledge
Teachers are at work, they earn their salaries, and they don't pay much attention to the fact if a definite pupil understands the subject or not, the time of the lesson is over, and he goes home to his own kids. He spends time and earns money, all the rest is problems of kids and parents.
It's a silent rule of education at school at universities, teachers just give but whether students take it or not, understands it or not - their own problems.
Parents work for the result, they are interssted in ther kid's education, and they do it with sincere passion and desire that always works great!
During the pregnancy the child in you hears your voice and the voice of others in the family. The learning of the language has begun. Also music is very relaxing and can be heard by the foetus. After birth the baby learns the mother's and father's face and keeps that in the memory.
Also the mother and the father learns the baby to drink, to speak, to crawl, to walk, to run, to play, to catch...
The home education begins from in the belly!
A mother and father are the most suitable teachers to learn their son(s) and/or daughter(s). Of course there are exceptions that they are not.
If we watch the (especially wild) animals : All the young animals get education from their parents and there is no law that forbid them. :)
Or will the lion king forbid home education? :)))
Never underestimate an animal, we could learn a lot from them.

Yes that is the problem that sometime parents are not able to teach because they dont know subject especially. Though there are more reason also for that but also some good points to teach at home. Thanks for share us

ну в 2 словах не ответишь, но сам факт, что родители без спец.образования запросто успешно учат детей, примеров таких семей немало, просто у нас это пока не настолько популярно и не очень на слуху, как за бугром, но набирает обороты уже и у нас
школы давно скурвились, система образования гнилая и неэффективная, 11 лет в трубу, другое дело, если оба родителя работают и выбора просто нет, тогда другой вопрос
Интересно. Надо будет почитать. Но думаю это тяжело,- обучить ребёнка
