HAMONIC CONSCIOUSNESS: The Singing

According to Abraham Maslow (psychologist), there are four stages of competence or learning, and we all get through them.

Experience them as a singer can have a very relevant impact, because our instrument resounds internally, within our body, so when we sing happens a contrast between physical and electromagnetic vibrations, and this awareness raises gradually in different dimensions of Harmonic Consciuosness.

Particularly Afro music provides me of a more transcendental melodic experience, more nutricious, by keeping me more essentially connected to harmonic aspect, it because of the dissonances which characterize it ‒reflection of a deep sociocultural historical legacy‒ posses much identity.

MOTIF & MELLOW: The Hamonic REASON

I was recently thinking about that mellow perceived at those particular songs, those we often refer to as the catchy ones, maybe, because their melody just come to your mind randomly with some other words and star those songful moments when you end up singing your own lyrics... so infectious amusing melodies, uh? They make us feel we could almost say anything and own them. Now, in the other hand we have that soulful music with such harmony and reciprocity, containing such lyrical and melodical uniqueness; this music which brings a different freshness, resulting of a perfect combination of frequencies, precise set of sounding and, oh, the motif, with an inherent complementarity between the musical expression, intention and feeling. With this one you can’t take out of your mind either its melodies and the exact words it sings: two inseparable elements of a pretty perfect whole.

Motif, in music, is a segment of melodic richness. Richness, in music as in life, results as manifestation reflect of the source of creation: emotion.

Our feeling keeps the potential of manifesting musically: we could equally consider our creation as a process in which our feeling is turned into music or that music is a feeling itself from which we start and to which we get.

It is a possibility to operate internally from a verbal thought, which could mean for some of us to identify a feeling first and then recreate it; some others are just sensitive and project musically from the main musical instinct.

Music offers different experiences from each point we live it.

Motif in world folk music presents a particular character made by the nature of collective experience. It shapes (into) people’s psyche if you consider that it surges through popular consciousness. It contains a message the social subject feels related to, which is based on tradition of harmonic, rhythmical and musical structure value.

I suggest you to read about a very interesting Wikipedia article about this topic: Culture in music cognition

I hope you enjoyed Carnival Festivities past February,
by tradition celebrated in my country with Venezuelan Calypso,
rhythm of Venezuelan drums and tropical music.

I will take this as a chance to remind you that
CELEBRATING TRADITION FEEDS INDENTITY, PERSONALLY AND SO CULTURALLY
‒maybe in a sense not so noticeably to us‒,
It has a impact on our spiritual , psychic and social of life.

Thanks for sharing!

BY THE WAY: I must say that I feel very motivated by this idea of sharing my knowledge and personal consulting on studies about my greatest passion: Music. Enjoy!

Muy bonito tu post, Siomara. :)

with an inherent complementarity between the musical expression, intention and feeling.

Music is a surprisingly beautiful thing. The way it penetrates our consciousness and is able to change our mood has always amazed me. It's such a complex thing, yet we can master it to the point of producing it by muscle memory.
