Literacy Workshop Fun
Taking a workshop on Literacy using iPad apps and I am already kind of thrilled with it. Why? Well, it sort of reinforces some of the ideas that I want to try in the classroom, specifically the idea of using some film/stop motion apps in my English Language Arts section.
The workshop has also presented some thoughts on how to get struggling writers to be able to get their, often well thought out, ideas onto a page for me to assess and refer back to. The most obvious is speech to text but there were a couple other ones tossed around. I can think of some kids this will help immensely, although a couple others with language development challenges, it may not help very much. It’s a start though.
Many apps are film based: Toontastic, Stop Motion, etc. In my wheelhouse.
