Float Your Boat

in #education7 years ago

My Padawans did the Float Your Boat STEM activity today, learning about buoyancy, gravity and engineering. They built boats out of aluminum foil and then tested them in a tub of water by adding weight (glass beads) to test buoyancy and how well they were designed and built. For the most part, all of the glass bead weights beat their expectations and two students made boats that held over 150 beads before they sank.

wow! thats lovely. Archimedes that came out with law of buoyancy also started in a little way like that, keep it up guys.

This is great. I've always found that hands-on exercises are the most intuitive and effective way to learn. You can feel it making sense. Looks like a lot of fun too!
