Poem: Back to School

This poem was written for students who are returning to school after their vacation to provide some encouragement and advice. It is free to share.

Wipe the tears of your face, the holidays are done
Get your rested brain in gear, now it is time to learn
It’s a brand new school year, so you gotta do your best
Study hard and pay attention, you can past the test

Do not waste your time in school, you won’t feel it now
Until you’re at home, broke and jobless, grazing like a cow
Wishing you had given education more priority
Now you’re looking for some money, don’t come and beg me

Personal responsibility, this is very essential
And Education will help you live up to your potential
I’m stressing the point because I want it to be retained
We all know that time lost can never be regained

Study your books, do your homework, revise every day
Don’t forget to read your bible and take some time to pray
God is the greatest teacher that you can even find
And If you learn from him he will surely elevate your mind

Seek help from those before when you are having trouble
There are people who will help you, you don’t have to struggle
So pay attention to these words and don’t be stubborn like a mule
Good luck to all you students. Enjoy your time in school
