The Feynman Technique of Learning - It's Relevance to Bloggers

“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” - this quote is often attributed to Albert Einstein.

If you are a blogger or if you just like learning new things then a very effective way to learn a topic is to use what is commonly called the 'Feynman Technique'.

The technique is simple and it has just a few steps:

Step 1.

Choose the topic that you want to learn and start studying it.

As you learn it you need to write down everything you know about that topic. If you are old school do it in on paper, if you are new school then it can go into your computer or even into your post as you are writing it.

Step 2

Now , imagine that you are going to be teaching it to a classroom. If you are a Steemit blogger then there is no need to imagine this because once you post it then (hopefully) many people will be reading it.

Step 3

Make sure you're able to explain the topic in the simplest terms possible for that topic. This will highlight any gaps in your knowledge very quickly.

If you can teach it to a child then you know that you are on the right track. Revise and rework the problematic parts in your explanations until everything is explained as simply and as fully as possible.

Tips:

• Use examples and analogies whenever you can.
• Use pictures and drawings whenever you can.
• Proof read and check for spelling, grammar and style issues. Wordsmith the post until you think it is ready.
• Check the flow of your logic and fix any problems.
