Self-education, the best way of learning and developing in this world

in #education9 years ago

Did you ever wonder what some high school subjects were for? The other day I was remembering the little that caught my attention subjects such as biology or mathematics, the content of this type of material was something really tedious since I simply did not see any kind of utility because I was not interested in belonging to any field That had to do with these matters, because of this was little attention I lent in class and also came out failing.

But on the other hand I did not like reading a book about 5 or 6 years ago, of course, I was a simple child and I was really more aware of other banal things than learning really valuable things. But there was something that struck me at a young age, many of the richest men in the world did not hold a university degree from any university, but still they had managed to reach great heights in a world as changing as this, where what is Valid today maybe tomorrow will not be so valid, due to the technological changes that there is in this globalized epoch.

However, once in a book I read that "self-education was the most powerful weapon to confront this age of so much information, those who were able to self-educate were more likely to succeed in whatever field they wanted or liked ". People who, under the motivation of mere curiosity, could learn and store extra information that others were not willing to learn would be those that were a step forward, and that is that it has always been so, for a long time there have been people who refused to Learn what others wanted them to learn, and instead what they did was look for alternative sources of information and concentrate on getting relevant and interesting information for them, something totally valid, and instead of wasting time "learning" about mathematics Pure (to say the least, there will be those who are interested in pure mathematics), they concentrated all their energy on merely important information for their own projects in the future. Self-education is the best way to learn and develop in this world.

Traditional education has expiration date, self-education is forever. The primary has an expiration date, the same happens with high school and university education, even up to specializations and things, but for most of that time (primary and secondary) you probably are not acquiring the information that really is Valuable for future projects or goals, it is up to the university that you really choose the relevant content for your life, as well as the specialization in any term to finish your career, however this type of traditional education eventually ends, and what People in general often do is believe that they are already a "finished product" at the completion of their advanced studies, but in the information age to stop injecting new knowledge into the mind is synonymous with staying stuck at best , The few people who understand what self-education are constantly learning new things from various sources, making them have a broader view on any subject, is certainly something really important for a person today self-educating.

Self-education is always about finding information that really matters to us. One of the most critical things of the current educational system is that they try to teach several people the same content and in the same way, judging them all equally. If there is something that I defend in this world, it is the individuality that each human being possesses to develop himself under the conditions that allow it, and I think there is no better teacher for a person than himself, Who more than that Can the same person know which is the best type of content? Who more than that person can know at what pace and in what way to learn information ?, the principle of development of humanity has always been one, individualism. It would save a lot of time, the most valuable resource of all, for a human being if he omitted a lot of unnecessary information to develop as an individual, whatever area of specialty that person chooses instead of seeing things as quantity Of hydrogen particles inside the ink of a pen.

Self-education develops people above those who don't do it. Actions are preceded by the mental models that a person has, and to act better and achieve better results it is necessary to change the way of thinking, and self-education brings with it as a consequence a mental development above those who ignore This concept, since the information that is acquired is more detailed and more durable, once I read in a BBC article that a person retains more information if he enjoys learning from it. But back to the subject, people are stuck at some point in their lives because they stop injecting their brain with more information, because of this they stay in the same way for the rest of their lives (or whatever leads them to take The decision to self-educate), and as a final consequence their results will always be the same. But what happens to the one who constantly gets new, relevant and detailed information? It is constantly improving, and that person who is constantly improving will produce the best results throughout his life.

There is a lot of information in the world that is omitted in the traditional educational system, which leads people to be part of the "average", the blunder of a person is not being aware of this fact and think that the learning stage is It ends at the moment of culminating higher education (not to mention those who do not even go to university), learning must be constant, it must be lasting and voluntary. Former US President Theodore Roosevelt said that a man must be strong both physically and mentally, and that mental toughness was only possible with self-education, Theodore at the time of death carried with him under his arm a book.

However it is quite understandable that a person hates learning when he has spent his whole life learning really boring knowledge, since it is usually knowledge that does not interest and is not relevant to people in general, even for those outstanding students. The key to effective education is that it must always be adapted to the individual requirements of the people, counting every detail.

And given that we are in the information age, it is not possible to progress if not enough information is obtained to the pace of globalization, there have been many types of jobs that 50 years ago were quite important but today they do not even exist. It is likely that the constant changes in the world will make the same thing happen with many of the jobs that exist today, and the key to surviving this change is simple: Self-education.

I was largely self-taught. I was home-schooled and had a large role in choosing my curriculum. I have also always had a love for encyclopedias and independent pursuit of my own interests. This kind of environment suited me well. I suppose that is part of why I like being a librarian now too.

That's pretty cool bro, I've always thought this is the best way of learning any kind of topic because it causes pleasure, on the other hand the school doesn't so much haha
