English language becomes a language which uses in world wide. most people take effort to learn this language for many different purposes, such as job requirement, entering test for college, immigrant, and others. Learning language is better to start it from beginner. in child-age, for instance. in this age, knowledge is more accepted if it is started earlier because the kids accept everything they heard, see, and touch, moreover, they also learn anything from their around.
In this writing, I would like to share about several common strategies used in teaching English vocabulary for children, they are:
- using picture cued
- memorization (mnemonics)
- highlight the new vocabulary
In the first point is "using picture cued".
This method has been used for several years. this method is believed will increase students' interest in remembering the vocabulary . In this method, a teacher prepares several cards which consist of several colorful pictures. These pictures will be described by the teacher and named it. Then the students are asked to mention and practice based on the pictures it continually. It purposes to remember the vocabulary.

The second is "Memorization (mnemonics)"
mnemonics is a trick that emphasized the memorization of vocabulary through games or playing. There are two tips to practice mnemonics in our classroom, as follows:
a. cut a word into pieces
b. memorize a cluster information

The third one is highlighted the vocabulary
It is similar with put the vocabs into the context. this is very helpful in reading skill. by highlighting the vocabulary, then the vocabulary will insert to the reading context and then the students will find out the meaning also the synonym.and at the end, teacher will ask the students to try the word into another suitable words.
At the end, I hope this writing will develop our skills to teach English vocabulary for our students because learning cannot apart with teaching. teaching and learning is a process which correlated each others.
I like this approach. At least I can learn from you, hehe... I think this was never in our senior high school formerly, hehehehehe... And, I agree with the conclusion in the last paragraph. :)
