Look at the Trending page,just for one example,it is not about quality,it is about investment.You can write the crappiest articles ever,if you invest into them (meaning you buy enough upvotes),you make money,meanwhile people who put time and effort into their quality posts are invisible.That is a No1 turndown for many.

Steemit is more than 2 years old,yet it is still in beta, it lacks of many basic features and looks like a simple blogging site from the late 90's.Not attractive at all.
