8 Ancient Map

in #education7 years ago

The existence of ancient maps proves that in the past, the explorers had a very great cartographic system that could even be said to be comparable to that of today.

These maps are also evidence that ancient humans knew the true shape and size of the Earth because it had precise and detailed mathematical calculations.

Reported from the page educateinspirechange.org 8 map below will make us realize how great our ancestors first.

Zeno Map

Published about 1380, this mysterious map accurately depicts the coasts of modern countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Scotland.

This ancient map also illustrates the latitude and longitude of EXACT from a number of islands on earth. Of course this is a big puzzle because the device needed to measure longitude due to the new chronometer was discovered until 1765.

Plus Zeno map also describes Greenland is still free from glaciers, which means somehow someone may have mapped it before the Ice Age.

2. Lehudi Ibn ben Zara Map

Created in 1487, this map shows the remains of glaciers in England, but there is also a very detailed depiction of islands in the Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea.

Currently these islands still exist, but due to rising water levels, it is now underwater.

3. The Hadji Ahmed Map

Published in 1559 this map shows a very accurate depiction of the west coast of North America and Antarctica.

Even more remarkable is the fact that this ancient map shows the connections of land bridges connecting Siberia and Alaska, which indicate that it dates back to the time when the bridge still existed.

4. The Buache Map

Published in 1737 by Philippe Buache. This chart shows Antarctica long before the north pole was discovered. Interestingly, like other ancient maps, this map also accurately depicts Antarctica without ice.

The map also features an outline of the underwater lowlands where the islands are located. This means that the source used to create this map is based on a survey of forms before glaciers melt and rising sea levels.

5. The Harry King Chart

Created in 1502, the Harry King Chart describes the northern Siberian river by emptying part of the Arctic Ocean that is now under the ice.

This map also describes glacial remains in the Baltic states and accurately describes the ancient Suez Canal.

The Harry King Chart also depicts major islands in south-east Asia today but is still incorporated in a single land that shows that geologically, maps are made when the Earth is still much different from now.

6. The Map of the North by Ptolemy

This map describes glacial sheets moving across Greenland in the south-central part. This map also describes glaciers from modern Germany (northern part) and southern Sweden.

7. King Jaime World Chart.

King Jaime World Chart was created in 1502 that accurately depicts the Sahara Desert section of the time with the fertile soil and large lakes, which makes it look like an ancient city.

8 The Oronce Finé World Map

Created in 1534, it is an early Qibla chart that features Antarctic features as the continent has not been covered by Ice.

Amazingly this map shows the continents on this palent even though it was not yet officially discovered.

The chart also shows streams, valleys, and coastlines of the continent and also describes the approximate location of the current South Pole.
