Toys Museum made me Think about…

I recently visited the seaport in Antalya. While visiting the seaport, I met with the toys museum built under the leadership of Sunay Akın who is a famous gentleman in Turkey.

Most of you maybe already have visited the museum i mentioned. If you have not visited yet, I would definitely recommend you to go there.

The inside of the museum is designed quite nicely and there are dozens of different toys which had played by the children from different countries at different times. I am sure you wish to buy some of these toys for your child, but these toys are for exhibition purposes only. You can see the toys made in the 1800s, the 1920s, the 1950s, and even the 1980s;

There are a lot of toys coming especially from Germany, from America and Japan and also from Turkey.

Something caught my attention on the way. The toys played by the children of America and Germans in the years 1920 and 1950. Yes, American and German children were playing with very well-designed planes, space shuttles, astronauts, robots even during that period. I coudnt believe my eyes when I see the toys, they were wonderful made.

The children’s toys in the museum in Turkey deplorable. They were really not good at all in comparison with the toys played in America and Germany. While they are playing with the space shuttle, we were trying to wire the plastic car and run it.

So what the kids are playing in Turkey at that time.

Recently, the situation is not so different. Children who has played with space shuttle they are now going to space to discover new places, and the children who has played with airplanes they are now producing airplanes in for their country, then the Japanese children who has played with robots are now making robots.

As a Turkish citizen, if we want to make centenary plans, we have to start with children’s toys. Let’s keep our children away from the toys which are not useful and not affect the child’s imagination.
