Educational Review In Dynamics of Globalization

As a related entity in the culture and civilization of human beings, education in various parts of the world is undergoing profound changes in the era of globalization. As one Charles Dickens scientist put it, it's the best of times and the worst of times. There's a lot of scientific and technological advancement that humans can enjoy. On the contrary, progress is also in tandem with the misery of many human children.


As we all know, that the problems and challenges of national education in entering globalization must be faced with approaches and methods that are appropriate to the conditions of society and the demands of future changes. The phenomenon that occurs in the world of education in this global era is always left behind when compared with the development of technology, information and business world. '' Because the world of education can not always develop itself on the basis of profit-loss and the principle of efficiency alone. Education also carries a vision of humanity".


In the era of educational autonomy, there are still many parties, especially schools and local governments, not understanding what should be done. Whereas according to Law no. 32/2004 on Regional Governance, much should be the duty of the regions in managing primary and secondary education. That is related to management, budget, curriculum, supervision, evaluation, teacher career development, quality control, and establishment of schools.

In the context of globalization, education in Indonesia needs to familiarize children to understand the existence of the nation in relation to the existence of other nations and all the problems of the world. National education needs to consider not only state building and nation building but also capacity building.



Education bureaucracy at the national level needs to focus on strategic and visionary policies and is not trapped to perform instrumental and technical actions such as UNBK. With the policy of regional autonomy, each district needs to be facilitated to develop community-based but high-quality education. This community-based education is expected to become a nursery for children from diverse backgrounds to identify issues and resources in the community and keep looking for ways to change society for the better.
