Have you made a sandwich in your company?

in #education6 years ago (edited)

Has any co-worker made inappropriate comments or gestures, and that attitude causes some discomfort?

So, do you have the need to reorient this negative behavior, but are you afraid of causing enmity?
What will you do next?
Do you have to endure it for fear of breaking relationships at work?

Do you have to put up with that rude behavior?

The answer is no.

I'm going to give you a powerful formula to correct those negative attitudes, without arousing any kind of resentment and strengthening your relationships with your co-workers.

It is a simple but very effective skill known as the sandwich technique, which is based on:

Not to punish the behaviors of their coworkers, but to praise their positive attitudes and in a subtle and intelligent way to perform assertive observation.

For a better understanding of the proposed technique, let's start with a hypothetical case, for example: a worker expresses a lot of rudeness when dealing with clients. You are your co-worker and you see that your attitude causes damage to the company, so what do you do?
Simple applies the sandwich technique.

What does it consist of? Did you ever prepare a sandwich? The phases are simple, it is a piece of bread, stuffing and finally another part of bread.

It consists of starting with a positive aspect, introducing assertive observation and culminating with another positive aspect, I explain it in simple steps.

First slice of bread: Prepare the ground, before starting communication, you must prepare the ideal climate, try to soften the situation, with a sincere, short and precise sense of praise.

For example: "We all know that you are a very responsible worker, you really fulfill your duties and therefore you are valued by the company".

Filling: enter the request for change of behavior, after praise, highlight the positive aspects of the worker, it is time to fill in, is to raise the need to change that negative behavior, adding a "but", example: You are valuable , "but" we have observed that you make some comments where the clients feel uncomfortable and that they have unfavorable consequences, that is why I invite you to minimize some comments to avoid that the clients feel uncomfortable.

Second slice of bread: Close the sandwich with another slice of bread, that is, with another positive aspect of the worker and explain that the great beneficiary of this change is him. Aclárale that the idea of changing their behavior, "Stop saying blasphemies," would bring benefits to get more satisfied and more loyal customers with the organization.

In summary, when the sandwich technique is applied, it starts with a positive aspect, the assertive observation is made and finally it closes with another positive aspect of the worker, "Bread, stuffing and bread". You will reinforce the ties of colleagues and powers your organization, What are you waiting for!
