The Liberty Academy: At the Movies - The Great Dictator (Charlie Chaplin 1940) & The GREATEST SPEECH ever!

Yesterday, I proudly launched the Liberty Academy (website link: http://liberty-academy.org/) which is an online school whereby all courses are free and where you can earn cryptocurrency for taking them!

We have many free courses to choose from. But I thought it would be fitting to start by promoting one that is quite special to me, namely a Culture Builder course for my series At the Movies with a focus on Charlie Chaplin's 1940 film The Great Dictator.

This historical film is perhaps forever enshrined as a cinematic masterpiece. Although it dates back more than three-quarters of a century ago, its substance is still quite relevant and relatable to today's world.

One need only look at the incredible speech that was skillfully delivered by Chaplin through his main character in the film.

Although you can watch the original version of this 4 minute speech here, I strongly recommend watching the following version which has been edited to contain images and video from recent times and is absolutely gripping and poignant. (try not to cry while watching it!)

Through this impassioned speech, Chaplin brilliantly captures the essence of liberty and the way people of our world should do away with so much misery and embrace and cherish the good it has to offer.
