10 Steps in Writing a Research Paper
Every college student writes at least one research paper before graduation. If you have never done one before, the process can be challenging.
Even if you choose the easy way out and search for “a company that can write my research paper for me,” you still need to understand the process as this is how you learn in college. In this guide, you will learn the ten steps in writing the perfect write-up.
1. Understand the Assignment
If you fail at this step, you fail the entire assignment. Take time and read through the assignment, including the resources provided, the prompts, the grading rubric, and any other materials provided.
If you are not sure what the teacher wants, ask for clarification. Failure to understand the assignment will result in poor grades. Also, if you search for “a company that can do a research paper for me,” you will need to explain to the writer what you need for the assignment.
2. Pick a Topic
If you fully understand the assignment, coming up with a topic will be easy. Do not worry about having the perfect topic but instead choose a topic you are passionate about. You can also select a controversial topic as it gives you the chance to explain different positions objectively.
However, ensure that the topic fits the assignment and not just a topic you forced because of passion.
3. Research
You can use general sites such as Wikipedia to learn the general concept of the topic. Because Wikipedia is not recommended as a reliable source and you can never cite it in your work, you will have to dig deeper to find more information. When you do your research papers, the best sources are academic works published in educational journals. Do not rely on a single source and do not ignore any information. If one source says something is true, dig even deeper and find whether other sources corroborate that information.
4. Organize Your Findings
You need to organize your research in a way that makes it easy to reference when you start writing. If you are using internet resources, bookmark the sources on your browser for easy reference. You might also be asked to submit a bibliography together with the assignment, create one. When a bibliography is not part of the task, creating one helps me do my research paper with ease.
5. Write a Thesis
A thesis tells readers what your paper is all about. The thesis needs to be a definitive statement, nothing about you. For instance, if your assignment is on pets, you can pick a thesis that says; Dogs can only give back the love and loyalty you give them.
6. Create an Outline
The outline you create depends on your assignment. When I write my research papers, I always create an overview, even when it is not part of the assignment. An outline is like a framework of your work – it shows what should be in every section of your work. The basic outline has an introduction, body, and conclusion. The content in the body of your writing depends on the topic and the research.
7. Write
Once you have an outline, sit, and write. You can reference your research, but do not do it too often as you might find yourself copying ideas and not developing your own. The same way I expect new ideas when I hire someone to do my research paper for me is the same way I create new ideas when I write my essay. This way, it is easy to avoid plagiarism.
Always cite your sources if you quote a document or someone. However, for known facts (such as Donald Trump is the President of the U.S.), you do not need to cite a source.
8. Edit your Content
This is the part where you dot your i’s and cross your t’s. Edit the structure, organization, wording, length, and clarity.
At the end of the editing, your paper should have a good structure and the right length.
9. Weed out Grammar Errors
You can use online tools to edit your grammar and check for plagiarism. Like when you edit for structure, organization, and length, you might need a few run-throughs to get the grammar right.
10. Re-Read and Submit the Assignment
Whenever I do my research paper, I link the first step to the last. It is essential to ask questions such as: What did the assignment require? Did I deliver as the professor expected?
Look at the details of the assignment and ensure that your work checks all the boxes. After that, submit.
Conclusion
Writing a research paper is a common task in college. Following this plan will definitely help you succeed. You can always get someone to “write research paper for me” online. Still, even when you do that, understanding the process will help you in your academic work
