Changes are required in education system

I have completed 28 years of teaching experience in engineering college. I have noticed that now a days, students are not trying to understand the concepts. They are mainly interested in scoring marks, get the degree and good placement. But with out understanding the concept, many are finding it difficult to perform better in their workplace.

In view of this, I think a training type of method will have to be made, so that a large number of students who are interested only to get a job and not interested in trying to go deep into the subject will go in this direction. The small group of students who are really interested in understanding the basics can go in the present method of education. This will solve the student's problem as well as workplace problem.
