-A bibliography or reference section is necessary for any research paper. Here is the standard method of writing one.

Steps -(6)-

  1. List alphabetically by author, each source used in writing the paper. Write the last name of the author, followed by a comma, and then his or her name, followed by a full stop.

  2. Include the full title of the work, if it is a book. Underline the title and follow it with a full stop.

  3. Name the city where the work was published, followed by a colon.

  4. Include the name of the publisher, followed by a comma.

  5. Conclude the entry with the date of publication, followed by a full stop.

  6. If you are citing an article, from a periodical, list the author's name as you would when citing a book. Begin with the article's name enclosed in quotation marks, followed by a full stop. Then write and underline the name of the journal or magazine from which it came. Include the date of publication, followed by a colon and the relevant page numbers; close the entry with a full stop. Volume and issue numbers are not included for newspapers and magazines. For trade or academic journals, include the volume and issue number after the underlined journal title. Follow with the date of the publication enclosed in brackets, then a colon and the relevant page numbers.

*Tips:

Buy a good writer's handbook that gives examples of research writing for your area of study.

Cite material from the web by giving the author's name; the title of the document (in quotation marks); the title of the periodical, or web-page (underlined); the names of the editor's, if given; the name and location of the institution or organisation; the date of access of the source; and the full web page URL in angle brackets < like this > .

Writing a bibliography can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you have multiple sources to cite. The steps in the article make it clear and easy to follow, from listing authors alphabetically to including publication details. It's also worth noting that getting a writer's guide can be helpful. If you're short on time or need help, you can order a bibliography from a reputable online service like this one https://edubirdie.com/annotated-bibliography-writing-service which can be a big help in ensuring accuracy. In general, following these guidelines will help you properly cite your sources.
