After reading your post and reaching this surprise ending I thought of something. I think that illusion is not created by a magician. It might actually be the viewers mind that created the illusion for him. For it failed to see the truth of the act and all the magician had to do was to fool the audience into making them think the way he wanted them to think.
Imagination........... yeah I have traveled with it. It can take you to some really weird places.
Indeed. The magician is a facilitator of illusion, the creation is in the mind of an inattentive audience.
