“Each individual possesses unique talents and ability, and education should cultivate those talents rather than transmit the intellectual traditions of the past” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

God The Almighty distinguished man from all other creatures, just as he distinguished diamond from all other minerals. Quiet often people disputed about what distinguishes mankind from all other creatures, after all, both sides pass through the same life stages and processes.
However, while other creatures were given the natural instinct, man was given the mind, which today is defined as his strongest weapon.
Apart from the fact that human beings are distinguished from other creatures, human beings are distinguished from each other too.
Scientists proclaim that no one is the same, ranging from their fingerprints all the way down to their unique talent. Each human being is born with a unique ability, a skill that cannot be found at the rest of 7 billion.
By this we realize that no mind is the same and so is the way in which life is perceived and everything that it carries. Being aware of this, human beings still leave their life in the mercy of fate. This way, they become the victims of the predators who are trying relentlessly to turn our lives into a “Truman Show”.

I believe you already understood who it is that I’m talking about . Yes, I’m talking about the people of the throne, who try to convince us of a mediocre life through the educational system.
The educational system is the nucleus of the development of every civilization. This particular system , besides imposing memorization of facts (and a considerable part of them are unnecessary), it also forces students to learn what to think, rather than teaching them how to think.
“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of minds to think” – said the well-known genius Albert Einstein.

More so, this system encourages the minds of the students to "learn" according to the classic way - the professor speaks, others listen. Didn’t we just say earlier that every mind perceives things in their own way ? As a result of this system is the failure of every generation to realize their realistic goals in life. Well, that's what happens when more emphasis is put on the Volleyball hammer rather than being informed about Sigmund Freud's personal unconscious, Alfred Adler's family unconscious and Carl Gustav Jung's collective unconscious.

Apart from the lack of proper use of the mind, this system also plays a negative role in student’s character development. Have you ever noticed that, when we enter a nursery school, we see children full of enthusiasm and they dream of becoming a writer, a pilot, a doctor, an architect, president etc, and just a few years after, we find these children sitting at the end of the class calculating the remaining minutes of the lesson and with a low self-esteem? They have a low self-esteem because they were judged about their skills consciously or without it, primarily from the wrong educational system.

Do not expect a student to be perfect in every subject. It should be understood that if a person is destined to live in the Shakespeare’s neighborhood, he does not have to visit Pythagoras. If a man is destined to play with Da Vinci’s brushes, It is not necessary to know the The Bronsted-Lowry Theory. If a man is destined to associate with celestial bodies, there is no need to smell earth's plants. Do not disparage students because you will quench the works of the next Shakespeare, the discoveries of the next scientist, the paintings of the second Da Vinci. Instead of limiting their beliefs, let them be encouraged to read, for only then will they gain wisdom. While reading they will be associated with the immortal and unique minds of the history of mankind. As he reads, he will realize that the mirrors are not enough to know himself. And a person who spends the day with Shakespeare, Tesla or Picasso will achieve the potential to govern himself – the world.
To conclude: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein

What you think about Indian education system

I think that the same goes with the Indian education system , they ask students to memorize facts (which later are forgotten). This means that they gain very little knowledge in school. After that, half of the country does not even have access to proper education, and only a small fraction can go to university. That is not fair at all. Standardized testing determines everything, and aptitude of students is not recognized outside this format.

They have done an amazing job at what you have so eloquently described.
They have turned education into indoctrination. Taking the once, infinite imagination and creation of a young beings mind and molding it into the perfect, obedient, "color-in-the-lines" type mindset.
Later leaving them to wonder, "Why am I so unhappy"

When Johann Fishte wrote a letter to the German nation in 1807, he said this : "If you want to influence the student at all, you must do more than merely talk to him. You must fashion him. Fashion him in such a way that he simply cannot will otherwise than what you wish him to will."
Guess each and every nation took his advice...

Don't believe everything you read. Or everything you are told. Love that lesson. I am constantly telling people to stop taking other people's advice, because most people have no clue what they are talking about anyways. It's all bullshit. So listen to your heart, and your intuition, and keep on going. :)

I absolutely agree! We may listen to others, but we have to be very specific about what we feed our minds with.

Yes. Our mind palace needs to be protected at all costs against random intruders. :)
