RE: Blockchain Bachelor’s Thesis – Information Overload and Methods of its Elimination in the Modern Information Society: Going Through the Sources pt. 3

in #education8 years ago

To me it seems like people as of yet don’t really care for unknown reason

It could also be people are just to busy with their lives to start thinking and wondering about this issues.

Have you watch the video where Asimov predicts the impact of the internet? That guy was clearly ahead of his time, by a lot.

or will the efforts of making it once again more centralized prevail and succeed?

I don't see a trend towards more centralization in the information sharing actually, but of course, I am not doing a research on the subject haha. Why do you think there are effort towards making this centralized?

I see new platforms being developed everyday, and breakthrough technologies like blockchain taking over slowly but surely, trends towards decentralization in my opinion.

Sort:

Isaac has obviously been in completely different realms. I (and many others) promote this without knowing (at least in my case) that around 50 years ago the greatest minds have already predicted such a course. I guess that is not what they teach you in schools:).

It could also be people are just too busy with their lives to start thinking and wondering about this issues.

100% agree. In fact I also "know" this, or "believe" that it is true, yet for some reason I didn’t put it down into the article...Thanks! Will add it right away.

Well what can I say? There are different cultures. Do you have a Pirate party in your country? They globally advocate for the free accessible information on the internet. They advocate for removing the broken systems of "pre-internet era" that simply do not work in the internet environment like for example copyright. Thus said, the government can either establish its laws to promote "remix cultures", which have the accessible information and if people want to "own it" they have to find their own way of securing it (Blockchain to the rescue), or there are what I call "anti-remix cultures" (conservatism) which try to follow the old, not really working systems of attributing the virtual "commodities" to its rightful "owners". Our government is conservative btw:P.

You see the difference between centralized and decentralized? I agree that Blockchain is one of the decentralized trends, but at the same time, for now, the humanity is ran by governments and as long as the whole (for example) domain system of the internet will be centralized (but many more crucial parts of our civilization) and under the federal law (in the domains case…can you even imagine how HORRIBLE it is?), we will have hard time creating a decentralized competition, even though it is possible as the Blockchain shows every single day! As soon as it gets really strong though (like creation of decentralized internet which is very possible by the way to compete against the one under the federal law) the centralized systems will fight it...The centralized/decentralized trends are as volatile as crypto itself:P.

Do you have a Pirate party in your country?

Nope, I don't we have anything similar to that.

I see what you meant when talking about making everything more centralized. Either way, I think technology is the best tool we have nowadays to resist any type of suppression coming from a centralized entity, and as technology evolves, we become more capable of resisting any action taken with the goal of deceiving us and taking away our liberties.

Totalitarians will have a really hard time in the coming years and decades, I think we are near to the end of totalitarianism actually, systems that respect freedom are so much better, and eventually every person will realize this and act towards achieving and protecting their freedom.

Really looking forward to read more about your research!

Cheers mate!

I wish the whole humanity shared your optimism:P Anyway I agree that they will have much harder time fighting against free-minded people with their technological tools and we shall see who will get the upper hand in the upcomming clash:P

well about optimism I think we should all be optimists.

Totalitarianism is not getting more popular, just the past century we had the nazis, facists, communists... and everyone of them were defeated. So we I actually see our world is getting better every passing year, even if there is bad trends like increasing control and spying coming from modern governments...

But either way, technology is meant to be our salvation one way or another.
