Public contest & Popular vote
Next Monday my company submits to a public contest to manage the dining room of a school.
We have been pre-selected 4 companies.
Each company has a maximum of 20 minutes to expose their project to the parents of the students of that school (kids from 3 to 12 old).

Once each company has made its presentation and at that moment the parents will vote one of the 4 companies. The parents have the power to vote delegated by the direction of the school. (i'm not joking)
The communication manager of my company has been terminated and we don't have the expert for this type of meetings and it is too late to hire a new one.
My question is addressed to those who are parents or to those who have ever eaten in a school :
What would you like to hear from a kitchen/education company to vote for it?
@beiker <3
com a casa! Xq ens interessen!
I would like to hear from them the strategies that they are going to follow in order to motivate the development of healthy nutrition as an habit for the child.
good one :)
what would you think if the main message from this company is :
We care about your children, we want them to be at home, they trust us
Trust is important, not only for the kids, much more for the father...
What steps the company takes to protect the food from becoming spoiled?
Is the food organic?
How is it cleaned prior to being served?
How often do you repeat meals?
How many choices do you have everyday, my kid is a picky eater...
If you are allowed to ask questions, ask the parents what else is important to them?
I haven't been in that situation, but, what passes in my mind right now is which have been the requirements for a job applicant in your company to get the job and if there are rutinary and random health controls when they are at work.
Good luck in that contest, @beiker :) I hope it wins the best application and not the one with better marketing or contacts.
also a interesting point :)
about the contest itself its the first time in 20 years so... is new for me as well, i can't understand how the fuck they pretend to decide something so important in a 20m speech.... so i don't know if the best company is winning or just the company with a better "aja speech moment"
Reading the answers you can define your idea, I would add here, that you as a father, what would you like to hear from those they are going to look after your kids?
While I was taking care of kids for 10 days, what you realize more than the crowd of kids as a group, every one of them is different from the others, some need more attention than others, for exemple, allergies, medicines and illnesses have to be treated individually.
When you sign up you children in school tou fill a form about them with all this information, just mention that the team will be aware of that.
Good luck @beiker! I’m sure you will succeed!💪🏼
ty good point :)
Given the fact that nutrition information seems to change so quickly based on new research, how grounded is your current approach to our kids' dietary needs, and how do you plan to stay current as new research emerges? Basically, I don't want the latest trend, but I also want to know that your company is flexible enough to evolve over time. I would also like to hear that you will be serving whole, unprocessed foods, from sustainable sources.
good point as well.
what would you think if the main message from this company is :
Your children will be at home. The school is your second home and your home your first school.
It’s an appealing statement. I’m assuming there’s a follow up. Are you implying that your company will be helping to educate our kids, and that this somehow creates a back and forth dynamic between home and school? If so, it’s intriguing.
our project contains more than 80 pages of presentation, values, protocols, safety, food, cooking methods, types of proximity products, ecological, labor insertion, fresh products and educational habits, food education, social commitment etc .. all this is very complex to describe in a speech of 20, therefore I think we should capture the attention of the public with a single idea and today the idea that has greater weight is: to be able to earn the trust of the parents transmitting our story, the story of why we exist and what our mission is and finally that they understand that their children matter to us and that they will be taken care of as they take care of them at home.
Story is all the rage in marketing these days, so that’s probably a good plan. It could be because I teach public speaking so I think too much in terms of basic persuasion, but I might also appreciate hearing what specific problem you will solve. I am constantly amazed at how a problem-cause-solution structure to an argument allows someone to persuade with good facts and info. Perhaps that may be of help to you. This may be way beyond the advice you asked for in this post, but to take this idea a little further, you could present your story in your introduction, as you method of establishing credibility with the parents, and then you could move into the p-c-s structure. Obviously doesn’t have to be exactly that — problem-solution is often sufficient, but my point is that as a parent I was kind of annoyed by a presentation about our school’s new nutrition program (it was already selected and a school official was telling us about it) and it just seemed like a lot of marketing bells and whistles. I wanted to know, at the very least, what this program was going to do that the last one didn’t. I think that’s how I would approach it with only 20 minutes.
Excellent, thats how we are abording this contest, we tell our own story from problem/trauma and the solutions we implement allways focused on "our kids" cos i'm a father as well, ty @cstrimel
Np. Good luck!
What exactly do you have to offer my kids, in terms of food and how will it contribute to their intellectual capacity.
