Incomplete Story of Rabeya, A 5-years-old girl

in #education7 years ago (edited)

Rabeya is 5-6 years old girl lives in a slum in Sylhet. I met with her when I was visiting different slums on 3rd March, 2017 to find whether any kids are out of school in my community. As you know the School For SDg4 offers free Quality Education for underprivileged children in Sylhet to tackle UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 . We find many kids without education like Rabeya, Zumka, Arif and so on.

During our visit at slums, I personally recorded videos so I can cover any sudden story. When we visited slum where Rabeya lives was on the Bank of River Surma, we saw her mom was doing house work and Rabeya absent. We waited few minutes and her mom called her. Then we learnt that her mom has problem with her skin and she is a street beggar. We had wish to know about her father and we was shocked. Her father was not physically fit to work hard jobs which a person might do without education. Both her parents are street beggars and Rabeya, the angel suffers the poverty because her family has no money to send her at good school.

Yesterday(12 July, 2017), I found Rabeya and her mom at a municipal area when they were visiting different shops, houses for help.

Rabeya when she was at school, she enjoyed our Weekly fruits program, Weekly E-Education program and different extra curriculum activities, like drawing, Sports, physical exercises, and drama.

But her mom suddenly stopped her to come school. She explained that "Rabeya crys after she returns from school and find no one at her home to feed her and care her". Then I convinced her to bring Rabeya at school again.

Today (13 July, 2017), Her mom sent her at school and she was so happy to play and study with her old friends. Our school needs your contribution, a small contribution can help us to facilitate more kids like Rabeya. Please leave your comment and resteem so the article engage more good people.
