Classroom environment and its impact on learning
“The old, more fixed, more static, more traditional classroom layout is becoming obsolete. It just can’t support those new behaviors and activities and, in fact, gets in the way of them.”
When I was children, I was invited to a free school. The environment of the school was totally different than other schools. I just loved the school as there was more fun and everything was so colourful. The walls were full of our activities including drawings and things made by friends and teachers. The colourful balloons were hanging over our hands and looked like we are in our own place.
It is just an exceptional school as it was NGO run school for slum children. A lot of elementary schools in Bangladesh are not attractive to children. If children from wealthy families, they may go to kindergarten schools with high fees. But if kids are from average families, they admit govt. run school or private schools where teachers duty is how to teach and how to force/support the kids to memorize the books. Leaning at school is not fun any more.
I really feel different and I wish to decorate a classroom as a kidult. Red, blue, yellow, pink and so many colours will be surrounding of the classroom. I found that children become more active when we rearrange the classroom or bring something changes.
When students join the first day in the classroom, they learn automatically what kind of class they are going to taking.
They notice what is hanging on the walls. teachers are responsible to make the classroom more comfortable for them and it helps them to more engaging and enjoy participatory
Yesterday we decorated our classroom and the kids also participated to make their classroom nice. As you know that we have two classrooms and we are working with more than 50 children right now. I am so hopeful that we will able to keep their attention in class activities

I hope we all will able to make our next generation not only educated but also living and growing in their own world they dream in childhood at classroom.
