MALNUTRITION
Malnutrition is inadequate and in appropriate consumption of nutrients needed for body growth, development, maintainance and good health. Ingestion of contaminated foods and water can also lead to the ddvelopment of certain diseases and infections including diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, dysentery, hepatitis and others. These diseases could cause malnutrion or make it worse.

Most people in our part of the world are malnourished for diverse reasons, but the most important reasons ard those of insufficient foods or ignorance about the knowledge of foods. Children are wonen are often the worst affected by lack of food especially because the children need good food to grow and develop and women need good food to nourish their children and to successfully carry the pregnancies. Therefore, it stands to reason that the worst forms of clinical malnutrition are seen in children and women.
CAUSES OF MALNUTRITION
Malnutrition often occur due to poor harvests as a result of drought, floods, and war. Other factor leading to poor harvest includes poor agricultural policies of governent showing poor planning , poor storage and marketing.
Large family sizes often aggravate family poverty with parents unable to adequatelyprovide enough food for everyone.
