Management and technology in the new society // Part 1

Humanity has shown that it is adaptive to changes perhaps with greater or lesser difficulty, but we have finally adapted, that is why the evolution specifically of management is affected by these imminent changes, which denotes that great part of his responsibility is on individuals, and he couldn't help but be affected. We can say that the management models are practically the same, only that the vision of whoever dominates them is the one that must be affected, depending on adapting to the new era to come.

In the new era faced by different organizational systems and their various levels, where the structures that constitute the bases of the organization are changing rapidly, with an air of renewal and an instinct of adaptability to new times. Where technology emerges a new frontier and a new way of looking at things, it is inevitable that the vision of the staff and even the managers themselves must turn their gaze to the challenges that are looming in the near future.

It is important not to detach from history, since it is a learning process to be able to draw the ties and paths of the future to come, that is why the author Drucker (2000:67) in his book "The Essentials of Druker", and which is considered by many to be the father of modern managerial thought, states that:

“... Management is the determining factor of organizations; its main function is to contribute to teamwork and the strengthening of efficiency ... "

Following this concept, the following question emerges, what elements guarantee efficiency in an organization? From this question the definition of efficiency is derived, which comes from the Latin efficientia, which in Spanish means action, force, production. It is defined as the ability to have someone or something to achieve a certain effect.

Based on this definition, it can be said that the ability to have something translates into the ability to assess the personnel working within the organization, in addition to being able to count and have benefits such as those offered by Communication and Information Technologies , or better known as ICT, to effectively meet the objectives and goals set by a manager within an organization.

Information and communication technologies (ITC), offer an extensive set of tools that support management, a structured view of this set can be based on the model established by Tapscott (1999: 98) in "The Digital Economy", who states.

"... the recent technological developments that characterize the new economy make possible new forms of business organization, which represent a kind of evolutionary path to be followed by companies if they want to maximize profits, resulting from the use of such technologies ... "

Hence its importance and value of the effect of being able to count on this type of tools today, where competition between organizations is becoming stronger and even ruthless, since the effect of being informed offers opportunities to have better advantages, and therefore more convenient opportunities for the effective unfolding of the organizations.

There is a current of thought that considers ICT as the main driver of the economy in the 21st century. Although this can be debated, there is complete agreement that future business needs and competitive advantages will be supported by the intensive use of ICT.

However, it is necessary to highlight that in addition to ICTs, there is an opportunity for change for society, since it is affected by the application of technology, starting from the home, passing through the educational facilities to all levels and therefore organizations are also included.
