Presenting the Educate Yourself Challenge!

I recently realized that for what I want to achieve I should have at least a 10-year plan. I have no idea how that plan will look yet, but I realized that for sure I don’t have the all the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for such a long-term plan. So, what better tool to fill the gaps than tapping into the open source education programs the internet provides.

There is an increasing number of open source educational platforms and universities that are posting their courses as free video content on youtube. This is a game changer because it decentralizes top-level education. In order to have access to the best professionals that are passing on their knowledge in a very coherent way, you no longer need to enroll with an institution, move to that particular place and attend physical courses. Now you can get that same information from anywhere and at your own comfort. There are also platforms that provide certification, and all free of charge. Nevertheless, whichever form of open source education you prefer, the power is in your hands now.

Personally, I was not a good student, nor did I enjoy school, nor did I attend all classes. This is not something I am proud about because although I feel liberated from not falling in certain traps laid out by the current educational paradigm, I have a lot of very useful information missing. It took me some time, but I realized I need structured education, and I really am glad the internet is here. As I stated above, I am in the middle of defining my massive transformative purpose which will be paired with a 10-year plan, and for this, I'm sure I need more understanding about human behavior, thus this challenge.

Presenting the #educateyourselfchallenge, which is a challenge for anyone that wants to join in acquiring and sharing knowledge. The challenge is simple, figure out a domain that you want to study and find an open source format that is structured in a number of courses related to that domain. Go through the courses and after each one, take that newly acquired knowledge and put it in your own words by creating a post in the steem ecosystem, a written post, audio or video, doesn’t matter. Use the tag #educateyourselfchallenge in order help others that want to have access to structured information and would not have the time to go through the whole course, but would like a summary.

The #educateyourselfchallenge has three directions of action: motivate, develop and share. It wants to motivate people in undertaking structured educational efforts, it wants to help develop the understanding of that knowledge and it also wants to create a sharing environment in which people may build upon each other's knowledge.

My first post will be in a couple of days and I hope to have at least two per weak, I think we should try to post at least once per week and I really look forward to learning from some of you. Don’t forget to nominate at least two other steemians for this challenge.
