Hi, I’m @roseri, welcome to my blog: #maternidadwithpurpose
A SPACE WITH CREATIVE RESOURCES FOR MOTHERS, PARENTS, AND EDUCATIONAL PERSONNEL TO ENJOY TIME OF QUALITY WITH THEIR CHILDREN AND THEIR STUDENTS…

The authoritarian educational style is mainly characterized by a strict hierarchy between parents and children. Only parents can comment, decide for their children and do not tolerate any objection. Children must comply with their parents' rules and requirements. If they do not follow the parents' rules or do not apply them to their satisfaction, they are reprimanded and punished.

Expressions of authoritarian education, for example:

"If you don't finish your plate, you'll go to bed hungry."
"When adults talk, children shut up."
"I decide when you need to sleep".
"As long as you live under my roof, you will do what I tell you."

An authoritarian educational style goes far beyond rigorous education. It also greatly affects the emotional relationship between parents and children. In general, the child receives little attachment and support. You will receive recognition only if you meet the requirements of your parents and the parents are satisfied. A child rarely receives a gesture of affection, and his parents' compliments are neutral and impersonal.

Characteristics of authoritarian education:

Authoritarian education can have negative consequences for the child's development. The latter does not have the opportunity to develop, or develop his personality and become independent, which especially affects his self-esteem, creative abilities and social relations, even in adulthood.

Children who receive an authoritative education often have problems in their social environment. As a rule, they are aggressive, disobey and always attract attention. They also reproduce the behavior they experience at home with their parents, often behaving authoritatively, aggressively and selfishly, especially with children, whom they consider "weaker" than they are. Attitude, which is reflected, in particular, in the way they are expressed, often using "I" formulations

However, it can also happen that educated and authoritative children behave in the opposite way, get carried away by their parents and become victims. Then they separate and feel lonely and helpless. This behavior can also appear in adulthood.

A strict and authoritative education can also have an effect on the psyche with age. In the worst case, it can lead to obsessive compulsive disorder, paranoid behavior or narcissistic or even sadistic traits. Once adults, people who have been educated in an authoritarian style often apply the same educational method to their children.
