Introduction

In this study we will share a series of aspects related to the attitudes and behaviors generalized in the adolescence stage, which will be very useful for all the parents and adolescents who live in the chain of blocks.

Let's not forget that adolescence is a period of transition between childhood and adulthood.

According to Stanley Hall, adolescence is a period of turbulence, passion, suffering and rebellion against the adult world.

Above all, we must accept that adolescence is a stage full of resources, that all young people can use for their benefit, especially if it finds understanding among adults, and offers support and help to channel their talents and virtues towards a positive attitude for them. . . and a healthy lifestyle

In this constructive vision of adolescence, we can share a list as a general sample of the traits that can be found most easily at this stage and that would greatly help parents to improve their relationship with adolescent children.

1. Idealism.

Young people tend to establish their ideals and consider them of the greatest importance. Save the whales, avoid a military aggression or free a hostage; If that is his ideal, he will fight for it with all his strength and enthusiasm.

2. Questioning authority.

Subjection to parental, school or social authority that has been present during childhood tends to disappear. Instead, we are presented with a young man or woman who questions the customs, traditions and norms. Do you want to be independent? And even when he can not be independent in a material sense, he tends to distance himself.

3. Mistrust towards the adult world.

Just as the trust that she places in her group of friends is almost unconditional, parents, teachers and other members of the adult world are suspects. Often, the innocent questions of a father, mother or older brother interpret them as if they were questioning or had ulterior motives.

4. Creativity and joy.

In the right context, the adolescent can produce ideas or products full of novelties. In art, play, academic tasks or friendly relations, boys and girls at this age have unsuspected resources.

In addition, with the exception of isolated moments of sadness or worry, the adolescent overflows with good humor when he is among those who understand and support him.

5. Energy.

The new physiological endowments of men and women give young people enough energy to perform their tasks without apparent fatigue.

Sometimes, however, adolescents seem to have no energy; But this usually happens when you do things that you have not chosen.

6. Conformity with the group.

If we look at the high school students, we will check that, with small variations, the colors and styles of their clothes are the same. The hairstyles are very similar. The conversations of various groups revolve around the same topics. Although the adolescent does not conform to society, he conforms to the group.

7. Sensitivity to self-esteem.

The comments, the glances or the silence of the others, continuously transmit messages to the boy or girl in question. In this way, self-esteem is modified. The general trend (even more pronounced in women) is to develop a weak self-esteem with corresponding consequences in behavior. After the stage, it is usually restored to the appropriate level.

8. Insecurity and the need for support.

Although the adolescent can give the impression of having enough autonomy to face the difficulties of life, he is aware of his limitations, because he often feels confused and insecure. In the end, he is open to the help of his parents and other adults in his environment.
