Educate is based on doing it realistically, the illusion and fantasy are acceptable but in doses, knowing what fantasy is. It is good that in childhood children see the world in that way, because their minds are like that, because they are still immature and do not have a total consciousness; however, they must be prepared to understand that reality is different, if not, it is possible to cause the princess syndrome.

Girls with the princess syndrome do not have a good tolerance for frustration because they do not allow them to have their own efforts, because there is someone who solves them and they do things for them.

When they are made to believe that they deserve everything, that is not affection, because to consent too much and to solve everything, more than a feeling of affection, is an aggression, since it is not letting it grow, making them dependent on an adult.

Setting limits for the princess syndrome are the key

It is necessary to help children because the limits are fundamental, so that people understand that the rules must be followed.

It is not about forbidding children to enjoy the world of fantasy, it is to educate their meaning according to their growth and help them face what they will live day to day.

Children can not stay with the concrete aspect of how a princess should look, but be real, be a girl in the reality lived through the most normal efforts, as follows:

  • Give a series of tasks to perform at home.
  • Let them learn how to prepare to go to school.
  • Allow the girl to make an effort to complete the task.
This is done so that in the long run they will not be disappointed by the efforts, because they are exaggerated and they become traumatic, when they have to take on stronger responsibilities.

Overprotection hides an important edge of aggression, so you must teach them to defend themselves and do not believe that, by magic, things will be done alone.

Who causes this syndrome in girls?

Parents, since they do not allow them to learn to defend themselves, do not teach them that efforts should be made to do things, but simply that what they want be done.

Girls with this syndrome tend to always have:

  • The capricious behavior.
  • She is constantly desperate for what she wants.
  • Attitude always complaining.
  • Demanding attitude.
  • They get angry very easily.
This encourages girls to lose the message conveyed by fairy tales, because these stories handle mental health messages, helping in the development of girls, to turn them into future adults.

What do fairy tales convey?

  • Values.
  • They convey different ideas of how efforts can be made to solve things.
  • Courage.
  • Be loyal.
  • They learn that there are good and bad behaviors.

Examples of stories to convey a message to children of importance and value in their lives

Story of the beauty and the beast. When you read the children, when you finish, you have to explain what the story really conveys so you do not have any doubts:

The princess, in this case "the beautiful" knew that the beast, as it is pronounced, was an ugly beast, nevertheless, the message for the children is that it finds beauty in the heart, in the feelings, in the nobility, and therefore, he becomes a better person and He, "the beast" finds beauty in the "beautiful" princess, but she did not know of that beauty. It is intended to understand that the important thing is love and feelings.

Adults in wanting the best for their children, should use the resources at hand, and show them to the children with these values that the stories convey. Favoring fantasies is a way of not being connected to the needs of children.

For children to have limits in their fantasies, it is necessary that adults have limits in their own fantasy and aspirations.

What happens if a girl with the princess syndrome is not treated?

It will be an adult who suffers from this syndrome taking a series of surprises and frustrations.

Having the syndrome of the princess means that when simple tasks are requested and can not be done, it is because they think they are impossible and very difficult, feeling offended.

The adult princess is easily disconnected from the environment while getting angry with life.

The syndrome of the princess has nothing to do with the social strata, it has to do with a way of being, it can happen at any level and at any time.

To want what is best for children is to teach, that not everything is like a story and that in order to achieve things a sustained effort must be made, teaching firmly in perseverance.

Greetings to educators and motivators of education.
