Direct experiences provide a significant and incalculable added value effect to the knowledge that is acquired through their practice.

Promote these activities, reinforces and gives way to new knowledge. Children learn to discover for themselves and, in turn, to understand how they develop in the environment.

The practice helps the autonomy, to be able to face any event. A child who learns to defend himself, to create, to investigate, easily meets the proposed objectives.

Direct experience in the bakery.

Many activities are beneficial for children to develop multiple skills, and put imagination and creativity into action.

The experience in the bakery, will help the children to create, and shape delicious desserts that will be pleasing to them.

When the student intends to work and be autonomous, he manages to challenge himself by turning problems into solutions.

It is not only fun, but learning, both complement each other to achieve: teamwork, achieving goals, being an entrepreneur.

This experience will give way to acquisitive property, to the development of gross and fine motor skills.

Objectives of direct experience in the bakery.

  • The learning of teamwork.
  • Development in any environment.
  • Acquiring the responsibility to work according to the standards or steps.
  • The development of different motor skills.

Function that the educator must put into practice, so that the experience in the bakery is carried out according to the plan.

The educator, always looking for the best for his students, should look for activities that are fun so that learning is achieved in a pleasant way and has the positive effect that is required around education.

Bringing students to a bakery to do the work of adults requires an understanding of responsibility, because the work of a baker requires discipline, hygiene, care and practice.

Therefore, the educator must explain to the children that attending a bakery is an example of education, which shows that they are prepared to face challenges and be able to face obstacles.

The skills developed from the period of childhood to an age with more knowledge of the acts, will allow to perform the tasks in the bakery according to plan.

Learning activities and fun at the bakery.

A learning by direct experience, is carried out by executing, palpating, evidencing the facts.

For this reason, the educator must have planned a complete activity with the person in charge of the bakery, so that the children can carry out some of the daily activities.

Activities:

Explanation of the processes they will perform.

The baker in charge of the school group will explain the guidelines to follow, such as:

  • Use of cap for hair.
  • Apron.
It is necessary that the hair remains always collected, since it is worked with food, and it would be unhygienic for someone to find a little hair in the meals. It is also necessary to take into account that the working tools must always be clean, preventing dirt from adhering to the desserts.

Children will be taught the simplest techniques to work easily from home, and with the help of their representatives, some of the desserts prepared here.

What does the baker and the educator want the child to learn?

To work as a team, either under pressure, in an orderly manner, no matter how hurried they are, and that the execution of tasks is always carried out in accordance with the rules and procedures.

Sample of bakery utensils.

The children will learn the use of each piece and, in turn, that each one fulfills a function.

The baker and the educator can give an example of the school for their understanding. For example:

When they go to make circumferences they need to use the compass, it is the same as with the use of the roller in the bakery to stretch the dough, each activity requires the necessary work tool, so that it is done correctly.

Distribution of materials.

They will be explained that this is like the distribution of loads, in matters that require the use of physics or the resistance of the materials. But since they are only children, the simplest explanation would be: if you add vegetable oil and water, it would be a catastrophe, so, for that, the rules must be fulfilled. Learn to separate the egg yolks, the amount of sugar, the flour, among others.

What is intended is that children learn to work in an orderly manner, and that this applies to their daily lives. Either to fix the clothes, the room, and what they consider that requires it to be in its correct place, so that it works more easily.

Preparation of the dough with stretches.

The baker in charge of the group should always be there to guide them, and explain the techniques of how to prepare the dough for the Croissants. In this activity it would be great to include them.

Through this technique, children will have more mobility in their hands, learn to be more agile and coordinate what they want to do.

Shape the dough on the table.

First use the roller, to stretch and expand. Once the dough is at its point, we proceed to perform with the hands the technique of rolling, and in this way will be smooth to make bread in the form of braids.

The agility and mobility depend a lot on this activity, so children must be very bold and prepare mentally for what they will do. The baker will do it first, so that the student can follow the rhythm.

The motor skills are put into play, and they develop in a surprising way.

Decoration of sweets.

The baker can make sweet desserts with the children or have them ready, just to be decorated.

Creativity and imagination will be a point of amusement in this activity, which leads to develop their creation skills.

The children will give shape and life to the desserts, reaching autonomy and self-sufficiency.

Activities to do in the classroom, once the direct experience ends.

The educator should ask the children how they have felt working in the bakery, in this way confirm, if they want to return or if they want to make a new adventure.

Activities to be done, to complement the learning and development of skills.

The educator will ask the children to make simple desserts in their homes, with the help of their parents, and put them on sale inside the school, and thus raise money to help unprotected children in street situations.

Excellent experience for the little ones in the house, learning to do something that they love like cookies and sweets.

The practice will help them develop better and, at the same time, generate awareness to do what I propose in this publication, charitable works by raising funds, with what they have learned in direct experience.
