Respect yourself
Source
Greetings to the whole community.
My special thanks to @edu-venezuela and @Steemiteducation, for the interesting invitation to all educators to share brilliant knowledge about this platform. I distanced myself from the community for a while and I became interested in the invitation that educators make to share our knowledge in this brilliant platform.
The issue of "self respect" is of great interest to me. That's why I want to share my knowledge with you.
We know that a basic feeling in a human being begins with respect for oneself. In other words, your child's future happiness depends on mental photography of oneself. The way your child feels about himself will determine his success or failure in everything he undertakes in life. The way he perceives himself will influence his behavior and school grades; It will also influence your choice of friends of both sexes, university and career. Finally, it will even influence how you will perceive moral problems and spiritual issues.
As the concept you have of yourself will influence all the decisions you make, it becomes relevant in this exchange of knowledge to address the issue of: What does self-respect consist of?

What does self-esteem mean?
It is the mental image of oneself that is formed with the help of what others have said about you, the way they have treated you and the experiences of life.
Those who have self-esteem, feel comfortable with their person, have confidence in their abilities and are satisfied with their life and work.
Since they have confidence in their abilities, they can take risks when they try to do new things. If they fail, they accept it with height and without needing to punish themselves by blaming themselves. They can take the necessary steps to avoid failure the next time they try to do something. Those who have self-esteem not only feel that they are personally valuable, but they also know that they have an important contribution to make in life. They feel loved and, therefore, can genuinely love others. Because they feel comfortable with themselves, they can respond positively in their relationship with other people and in different situations of life.

The concept of self-esteem and personal appearance.
An adequate concept of oneself leads to the acceptance of personal appearance, even with its distinctive characteristics. It makes people feel willing to use their energies to solve problems instead of feeling overwhelmed by their weight. They can accept the value of their achievements without becoming futile.
People who have healthy feelings of personal dignity can appreciate their abilities realistically. They understand that they are not perfect, that they make mistakes and that from time to time they fail in the things they undertake. However, after making a correct evaluation, they conclude that they have enough good qualities to balance their negative traits. Therefore, they feel equal to others and able to live according to the positive opinions others have of them.

Self-esteem should not be confused with selfishness.
Show off and brag about what you are and what you do are classic symptoms of inferior self-esteem.
Those who can fairly appreciate their personal dignity have little need to impress others with their abilities or possessions.
Self-esteem can not be measured by talents or abilities. Many people who possess great talents and abilities can have a devastating concept of personal dignity. The story tells of many intelligent and well-endowed people who became alcoholics, drug addicts or suicide to escape a concept they had come to hate.
Dear readers, from the community, is this topic not interesting? Soon we will be sharing the topic on the Dimensions of self-respect. A greeting and a happy day.
