The everyday carry might seem like a crazy thing at first, but once you begin to realize how useful it is your EDC will grow. Everyone’s will be a little different due to personal needs, but a lot of basic crossovers will be seen from one to another.

  1. WATER ... So very important. Having some handy is not only smart for thirst, it can be life saving. Need to wash something like a cut or a fruit, you got it. My water bottle of choice is the Kleen Kanteen .It’s made of 18/8 stainless steel with a 40oz volume. The great thing about this bottle is besides being super durable it can be used over a fire to boil water in an emergency as well as the threading on the neck is the same as other popular brands like MSR and Nalgene so all accessories that thread on can be interchanged .I have a MSR filter I use for camping , and the multi use top that I have now is Nalgene which has a fold out straw that I customized to fit a hydration hose and a screw lid for pouring and large gulps .Yes I have a serious over thinking things problem .

  2. SUNGLASSES... Around the city I can’t live without them. The reflections drive me bonkers and sometimes set off migraines which basically makes me useless as a human for a day or two. Smith sunglasses have been really good to me. They have some great styles and have a lifetime guarantee which is way better than the other expensive brands that sound something like bay rans .POLARIZED .... Can’t stress how much of a difference it makes. For reflections off cars and windows in the city to when you are out on the water. All good shades have the UV protection; even the cheap dollar store ones have it. A solid case and a wipe and you are ready to go.

  3. MULTITOOLS... Personally Swiss army brands (Wenger and Victornox) have always had a very good product. You might chose Leatherman or Gerber which is fine, but don’t cheap out. You don’t want to be let down by a tool when you really need it. I chose to keep two on me. The Swiss mulitool which has a large set of pliers as well as knives, screwdrivers and a handy seatbelt cutter covers a lot of larger jobs, your choice of tool could have lots of different tools. The Swiss army knife which I have the champion model, has a huge assortment of tools. The basics of a knife and smaller screwdrivers, to really small screwdrivers. As well as some things you never even thought of .For instance it has a small needle that I used to clean the fluff out of the charging port of my phone since the cable was not fitting in properly. It has a magnifying glass that can be used with the needle to get out a sliver or start a fire .Or the corkscrew for those emergency glasses of wine.

  4. FASHLIGHT...I’ve got an older Mag AA flashlight. I like it cause they are super durable and inexpensive ,as well as parts are abundant .I personally hate throwing away batteries so I’ve got a nice set of rechargeable Duracell AA batteries in mine. The technology of these batteries have come a long way , now if they could just make them out of lithium we would be set but they would not sell close to as many batteries. Getting with more new tech I replaced the factory dim incandescent bulb with a super bright and efficient LED. It’s bright, waterproof, and durable and lasts a long time.

  5. THUMBDRIVE... So a little more tech here. Nothing too much to say about this its super small so it takes up no room. Great for taking those files over to a friend’s place or getting them. Or for those super spy files you have.(Insert evil genius laugh here )

  6. CAMPING KNIFE AND SPORK... I kinda hate plastic and single use things. So wasteful and the pollution that goes with it. So it’s super easy to keep this Coleman Xcusrion stainless steel set in my bag.

  7. SHARPIE ... I have yet to use this. But I know one day.... One day ill save the world with it.

  8. BOOSTER PACK...This is a simple thing that is really overlooked .How many stories do you hear where someone goes hiking and gets lost..... Phones dead ...See what I’m saying, a good one like this ROMOSS one will actually charge your phone. This one replaced the Duracell one that would only run off of and not charge the phone. Plus it has a bright little LED light as a bonus.

  9. LIGHTER... Again with the Swiss army .Wenger makes this lighter. It’s actually my second one that I had to fight Wenger to warranty my first .They apparently don’t carry these in North America anymore. It’s a nice butane unit and has a signal mirror on inside of the caps that make it waterproof.

  10. PEN...Why have a chepo pen when you can get a tactical Smith and Wesson. It’s a little superfluous in that sense, I mean it’s a pen and can be used for self defense. But anyone buying a pen like this already knows self defense. See what I’m saying. I did get this on a trading website called BUNZ, which I will talk about in another blog.

  11. PHONE CHARGER...Save your booster pack when you are near a power source. I can’t believe that everyone does not own one of these. Plugs into a 12v car socket AND into wall outlet .These things are brilliant. My only issue with this one is its low amp charge .If this was a 2.1A charger it would be perfect.

  12. CABLES... Really that booster pack and charger are useless without a charge cable.

  13. HEADPHONES...To go with your phone, DUH...

  14. WALLET...I don’t keep it in my pocket I keep it in my bag.

  15. MEDS...This will be different for everyone .I keep my puffer, Advil and a few bandages.

  16. THE BAG ... This is a High Seirra hydration bag . Its not a perfect setup as it does not have enough storage pockets inside. Finding the perfect bag is one of the more difficult things to find. Look around and see what fits your needs.

MISC... My phone is not on the list since it’s ALWAYS in my pocket. An energy bar should be in there all the time too.
So this is my daily carry .It changes from time to time depending on the circumstance. If I have a fresh batch of jerky I made there will always be a bag of that in there. When I am going hiking I make sure I have an apple and something else to snack. Things like hard candy are good to keep but can melt and make a mess. Ask me how I know.
What would you keep in your EDC? Or do you have one already. And let’s just make the comparison now ... THIS IS THE MAN VERSION OF A PURSE. JUST MORE BADASS ;). Quesions and comments are appreciated.
