I tried to buy some steem, and when I set up my account, they want a copy of my drivers license! No wonder there is so much identity theft! They were surprised when I told them I would not supply that.
But I looked in the mirror (I know tough job) and I do NOT have stupid tattooed to my face....

yes I had to do that with Coinbase, it's supposed to be safe and is insured by the FDIC but I still hated it. They need to streamline the purchasing of crypto if they want it to go mainstream.
I set up an account with coinbase too, but I can't use it without giving them my DL and I will not do that!

They didn't look at me like I had two heads when I paid cash for the land out by the lake! I even had them do the Notary work too, LOL! So they know I am a freak....

No, I went to the bank lobby, and used a counter check to pull a lot of $100.00 bills. I got my bill of sale, and my quit claim deed, and had both notorized.
He left with cash, I left with property. :)
I have a DL, I just never put that online...EVER! Too big a risk of identity theft!

I will NOT do that, period! Have you tied in to crypto?
I am going to my bank to ask them to buy me some crypto, We will see what they say. If not, I will ask around locally for a source for crypto.
I suppose I could look on Ebay too, but I trust the bank the most, so we will see how this goes.
