¿UNIVERSITY Vs YOUTUBE?

Faced with this supposed dilemma faced by some young people today, my opinion is that there is no real turning point between both learning opportunities for trades or careers for life.

University is not only a stage of training in a particular career, it is also a stage of human growth, of socialization necessary to grow not only intellectually.

On the other hand, the goodness of You Tube lies in its easy access and ability to teach in a short time different ways of solving problems that require technical and specific knowledge. In You Tube, there are thousands and thousands of educational videos, but that type of instruction does not replace a university education in any way.

Of course, You Tube offers an economical and quick way to learn any trade, which is an advantage in times like these when young people have changed their life expectancy, based on the reduced opportunities to access university studies and achieve the Success with a degree that allows you to succeed in the field of work. But, there is no sustainable comparison, it is as polarized as the abysmal difference between day and night.

The University is and will continue to be alma mater, the house that overcomes the shadow and can not be replaced by technology, although it can be used as a tool to improve the teaching and learning process. Being human involves burning stages and the University is the last formal school stage before entering the world of being "adult" formally with all its implications.

I think it is not that it is no longer important to be a university graduate, but that the immediate mentality has been imposed in today's society, eager for continuous changes produced, precisely, by technology. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is gaining ground in education and in learning a trade to earn a living, teaching through YouTube videos, but human contact is essential for comprehensive training.

Of course a university degree is important, I obtained it myself and it is priceless, it is a curriculum and it increases the chances of success in the labor field. Regardless of the reading that could be taking place regarding the social changes that have taken place in recent years regarding education for life and the elitism that university education might seem due to the global crisis; it is still the dream of every father that his children reach the University and that of every son, to grow up to be an engineer, a doctor, a professor, an astronomer, a physicist, a nurse or any career he has dreamed of exercising.

The learning through You Tube can be an alternative for those who do not achieve their dream, for whom the system leaves without study opportunity in the university, for those who want to expand their university education and want to keep up with the advances that they occur in their work area, for anyone who wants to learn informally, but you can never say that one replaces the other, they are not even interdependent; rather they are two parallel ways to reach a common goal, ultimately: prepare to make a living. But, I insist the human warmth is of radical importance for the full realization of the integral being.
