A "paleo" dish for Aran - ecoTrain QOTW Challenge: Make Something Paleo to Eat! - Revised
"The more you eat, the less flavor it has; the less you eat, the more flavor it has."
Again, we are facing another exercise of reflective writing proposed by @ecotrain and its QOTW Challenge of the week , in which @eco-alex leaves the usual to pose a cooking challenge based on the paleo diet which is nothing more than a diet based on a return to the eating habits of humanity in the Palaeolithic era.and according to his own description:
The Paleo diet is quite different and can include meat. It is based on avoiding not just processed foods, but rather the foods that humans began eating after the Neolithic Revolution when humans transitioned from hunter-gatherer lifestyles to settled agriculture. Other names for a paleo diet include Paleolithic diet, Stone Age diet, hunter-gatherer diet and caveman diet. The aim of a paleo diet is to return to a way of eating that's more like what early humans ate. The diet's reasoning is that the human body is genetically mismatched to the modern diet that emerged with farming practices — an idea known as the discordance hypothesis. Farming changed what people ate and established dairy, grains and legumes as additional staples in the human diet. This relatively late and rapid change in diet, according to the hypothesis, outpaced the body's ability to adapt. This mismatch is believed to be a contributing factor to the prevalence of obesity, diabetes and heart disease today.
There is a lot of literature on this subject and as I could understand, for the proponents of this idea, our brain has been designed for millions of years to feel pleasure in those things that ensure survival: eating, drinking, physical contact and sex. The recovery of our natural rewards will define our state of happiness and, in terms of food, eat the foods to which our physiology is most adapted.
But what was the diet of ancient humans in the paleolithic era?
Allowed
Fruits, vegetables and tubers
Meat from cattle that have eaten grass
Seafood
Nuts and seeds
Healthy fats
Spices and condiments
Foods to avoid
Dairy
Grains and cereals
Processed food
Sugars
Legumes
Starches
Alcohol
As we can see, it's very simple. It is eaten as close as possible to how the first men who lived from hunting and gathering ate. And while it may seem ironic that contradicts other currents defending the suppression of meat from daily food intake, it makes sense.
Then, from this recent knowledge acquired thanks to @eco-alex, always attentive to presenting different nuances of the same truth and challenging us to think, investigate, reflect on a proposed topic and share our vision around the QOTW Challenge. I propose to present to you my version of a dish prepared according to the requirements of the Paleo diet and which I have called: "Beef fillet roasted on a bed of Colombian small potatoes and pumpkin".
For this purpose, I hired a culinary art critic of great importance to me, my only grandson: Aran. A baby inclined to use computers and smartphones more skilfully than one would often wish, because it does unpredictable things like publishing the current post when it was still under construction, a draft that still lacked the main thing: the recipe we cooked for the challenge and the photos. An unexpected visit arrived, I left the laptop unattended and Zas! the boy took advantage of the occasion, pressed publish, what for me is a disaster originated, because in the editor I keep written labels that I use frequently, but that have nothing to do with this type of article. That's why I was forced to delete the publication, saying "I'm so sorry", and complete the post as it should be, hoping it wouldn't be so late.
Without further ado, I will tell you what ingredients I have used for this "paleo" dish, nutritious and easy to prepare:
Beef fillet roasted on a bed of Colombian small potatoes and pumpkin.
-Beef fillets
-Colombian small potatoes
-Pumpkin, cut into squares
-Salt and pepper to taste
Step by step
Use as many fillets as you like, beat the meat a little to make it more tender and season it with salt and pepper, and it roasted grilled or planched according to taste. As a personal touch, I added half-orange juice to the meat during cooking.
Afterwards, the banquet potatoes and the squash were boiled in a little salted water, which soften very quickly. Therefore, in a few minutes we will have the complete dish and ready for tasting, which it goes without saying was it's really a delicacy.
Healthy, exquisite and very nutritious.

Lovely write up! Not sure how paleo it is as potatos are quite starchy and pumpkin quite sweet..
But looks healthy and tasty! Xx
Ha, ha, ha... That's paleo pure, my dear @eco-alex. The people in the caverns didn't think about the figure, but about the energy. A hug! Xx
Cooking for your only grandson must be an amazing pleasure! Potato and pumpkin always a comfortable and very yummy pairing. Did he enjoy it??

Oh, yes, he enjoyed it. He likes simple food preparation, not very elaborate at all. He does well on the "paleo" diet, although he would miss the dairy products, which he loves. Thank you very much for your kind visit, my friend!

I love those small potatoes, so tiny and full of flavor. Combining them with pumpkin just adds another level. Great job!
Thank you, @stottebeker. Also I love those small potatoes.
