Have you ever heard the story of how the cat and rat were supposed to go to the Jade Palace together to become zodiac animals? Apparently the rat got excited and left without waking the cat up the next morning, and by the time the cat got there, all the spots were full. Of course there weren't actually cats in China at that point in time, but it's a good story anyway.
