RE: Zero Hunger Writing Challenge - Why I used to hate questions like this and how I turned that dislike into positive personal action!

Such a informative post. I do agree that beef production and meat in general is a massive problem. Not onky energy use but water too.

We need to start viewing meat as a cherished treat not a nessesity!

Great post =D

I agree! It's certainly not something that we need to force everyone to quit - I don't think that's possible or fair - but we need to find a better way to enjoy it (as well as cut back)!

If I could, I would give up meat. Between long term diabetes, the fact that food companies now put carbohydrates (either added sugar or grains) into every product on the market except fresh meat, and more than my fair share of food allergies, it would be almost impossible for me to not eat meat.

Having spent much of my childhood on a farm, I think a lot of the problem with meat production is a lack of technology being developed to combat problems. But many of the advances that could have happened in the past 50 years, have been intentionally squashed by big business. It is the attitude that big business is king and can't be touched that prevents the world from becoming a better place. In other words, it is the greed of the few that keeps the majority in a type of slavery.

Our chances of forcing big business to change are slim, until and unless we, the little people make sure we no longer depend on them for survival.
