Using plastic bottles to produce nursery pots.

Nurseries are the basics of good planting materials when finally transplanted into the field. Using these bottles to produce nursery pots are better interms of stability, easier to be filled, portability, etc. A good nursery site should first be selected which is close a water source, should be flat to avoid the lodging of seedlings, provision of shade.

Top soil was selected and mixed with sand so as to ease percolation of water, air(aeration) in order to facilitate plant growth. The proportion of sand and soil is 1:1, (1 wheelbarrow of sand and same for sand).
Furthermore, the primary purpose of nursery is ensure that disease free plants should be planted in the field, provide space(time) for the land to be prepared.
After the nursery pots have been filled, they are allowed in the nursery to set or for the soil to compact at least for a week or two depending on the soil type. So the product of every plantation is determined by the kind or type of nursery established.
The period for which seedlings should be at the nursery is between eight months to twelve months and over depending on the availability of land.
