With Steem Came Inspiration, Community and Healing Plus the Creative Juices Are Flowing!
With the new #Steem @eco-alex thought he would have us bring it in with a positive upswing with this @ecotrain Question of the Week -
Share something or someone that you have discovered on the Steem blockchain that has inspired you or shifted your view, life or opinions.
I really had my eyes open when I came to Steemit and started engaging with people. I found there was amass of information and people willing to share and help. I was meeting all kinds of folks from around the world that I never would have come in contact with if I hadn't joined Steem!
Not only the people but the communities! The first that I was introduced to by @mountainjewel was @Ecotrain (she actually suggested it in her first message to me on my #introduceyourself post) I never picked up on it right away until I started engaging with @mountainjewel and found out there was questions of the week for @ecotrain which really had some depth and I started to check out the other members responses and figure that this was where I wanted to be - on the Ecotrain!
I didn't get accepted at first for @eco-alex had just taken on a number of new passengers and you kind of had to prove yourself through your writing and engagement. I was a little disappointed but I still loved the QOTW and also the Medicinal Cooking Challenge that @eco-alex put on so I continued using the tag and got some upvotes and kept engaged with the passengers on the ecotrain. These challenges and QOTW got me back into writing (I had written three books in my series "Bringing Out the Potential of Children" but I had decided to take a break for it was a lot of work getting them put together and getting them published along with their accompanying workbooks. They are now available on my Homesteaders Coop store in both digital and paperback form at: https://homesteaderscoop.com/store/porters-place/) It really felt good to get my creative juices flowing again and also to be sharing things that were going on around the homestead, life in the boreal forest and also knowledge I had gained from living more of a back to the land type lifestyle.
Another passenger on the ecotrain was @riverflows who started up the @NaturalMedicine community, where people who were looking for an alternative to things like Big Pharma and the pill pushing medical system could come together to share. The folks there were so supportive and I loved that vision of archiving all this knowledge that was being shared (We found out that Natural Medicine covers a lot of different topics! Head on over to the discord server here and have a look at the archive categories - heck stay and enjoy the conversations on these topics too!) plus having a place where you could feel supported!
In Natural Medicine challenges we were encouraged to share our healing stories and I remember @mountainjewel 's courage when she really opened up, being quite vulnerable and how it had inspired me to share my healing story too, with stuff that had been shoved down for quite a number of years. I too, opened up, sharing and so much healing took place by doing this! Also I felt I was able to help others by sharing my story. You can read about it here. I have never found any other social media where there is such engagement with people opening up, being genuine and caring!
Another big turn of events was when @riverflows set up a place for @Bewithbreath to hold group meditations right in the Natural Medicine discord - #Mindfullife was born! And we held group meditations, and Steem meditators were starting to come together sharing on something that was so important to me! @Bewithbreath wondered if there was a place for meditation on Steem and there sure was! People were pulling together to support each other in conscious living! Another thing I never thought would have been possible on a social media type platform!
Discord About
There are a lot of people here on Steem with vision!
Just a couple more I want to mention - @Jaynie from #powerhousecreatives pulling people together from all over the world to support each other in our blogging efforts and different initiatives. Being a strong community and supporting each other in our endeavors!
@sagescrub from @HomesteadersCoop.
This whole concept of the Homesteaders Coop - a Free International Community Marketplace that focuses more on people than profit really gets me excited! I see it opening all sorts of opportunities for mom and pop operations around the globe, creative people and folks who want to have another way of making income from their homesteads (you would be surprised at what qualifies for a homestead or being a homesteader too! You may be one and not even know it!) They open a door for using your STEEM or SBD in exchange for some pretty cool goods or services! There is even bartering ( I like that option a lot) or a chance to operate in a gifting economy! Homesteaders Coop is growing all the time with Steem community effort! Wonderful and I feel it can make for a brighter future! As quoted from HSCO site -
A little STEEM might go a long way for some people!
That brings up another thing - how easy it is to be able to give and help out here on Steem! Either by making a donation or delegation right from your wallet transferred to theirs or buy doing some posting and sharing to help earn something for the cause. Love it!
All in all Steem is a wonderful place where so much can happen, full of amazing people! So no matter what loops or twists and turns may come about, I hope these communities and people stay strong and carry on with the vision and goal for a better place! Steem on you beautiful people!
Thanks @eco-alex for bringing this question up!

Big theme of COMMUNITY here @porters - and so it is. And you're so right that it is EASY to step up, contribute, help, delegate and support. The medicinal cooking WAS fun, no? Might be time to do it again soon.
