RE: Wildcrafting 101
I for sure hear you on person to person teaching. I’ve had to learn a LOT from books just cause I haven’t been around the teachers... take advantage of your opportunity. Our local conservation agent (through state run department) was happy to walk with us and answer tones of our plant questions. We both learned a lot about the native species on our land, many were new to both of us.
You’re lucky, thimble berries are one my favorite tasting berries, too bad I only ever find a couple at a time. And serviceberries were my first berry to forage for ever. We’d pick gallons of them in Manitoba and eat them all year. Yum yum.
We will be making an immune boosting and lung supporting tincture by cooking and soaking in alchocol.
