Ecotrain QOTW: If we were all telepathic, how would the world be different?

I am going to approach this, as if just suddenly we all could start communicating telepathically…

At first, we wouldn’t be able to control what thoughts came out of brains and we’d learn some truths that perhaps we didn’t want to know from the people around us.

I couldn’t even imagine what goes on in my 7 year old’s brain?

Probably things along the lines of “why does she always pick on me and not my sister?”

Or “here we go again, shut up mother”

Then, of course, there is what our friends and spouses think of us. I know there are several thoughts, my ex-husband would not have wanted to hear and more than likely vice versa.

So these truths would be hard to take and could lead down a road to trouble, or they could open up the lines of communication, as they would force conversations that have been avoided but needed to be had.

So as we heard the random thoughts from the people around us, we would have no illusions as to what people thought of us and the errant stray random thoughts, that would make people stop and stare, but just for a moment until suddenly they’d think of something equally weird and random and be embarrassed too.

It would get rid of our inhibitions and we’d have two choices - either to get angry at what is heard or to let it go and become desensitised to it, as I’m willing to bet no-one’s thoughts are perfect.

So as the world makes the decision to be at war with one another on an individual level, or to accept that we are all as weird and wonderful as each other, we would learn to control what we telepathically transmit.

But the lessons learned should not be forgotten, as we will just be back to as we are now - selecting the truths and lies we want to portray about ourselves. (Telepathy at first would force us to be true to ourselves).

But in the time it takes for every person to develop this skill to shield their thoughts, just maybe the powers that be would reveal their true colours and thoughts as to why they do the things they do (i.e. to suppress us) and be overturned by a crowd who before did not realise that the rest of the world thought as they did.

Or we could just wear our hearts and voices on our sleeves now, unite and start the revolution anyway!

These my weird thoughts on what if the world was telepathic.
