The Medicinal Cooking Collective Week 4 Guidelines: Cooking For The Lungs & Large Intestine / The Metal Element

This is my fourth week in Medicinal Cooking and it has been an extraordinary challenge, because although I am not a chef, I always try to comply with the rules of the corresponding dish and according to the elements of the week.
I know that maybe I do not have the best presentation and that is why my meals have not passed a great score, with respect to other dishes that look very good, but it is too much to say that I feel lucky, just for participating, for me, It is already a great achievement, it does not matter that they do not qualify for a great score, but I know that you see them @eco-alex and it's a victory, I will not reach any professional level, but yes, I do it with love and passion

This is my ticket for week number 4

It is a delicious dish of white rice, with basil and caramelized onions with cauliflower puree

Accompanied with boiled plantain

Brown rice is rich in selenium, a potent antioxidant that can help prevent the formation of free radicals that damage the lungs and reduce the likelihood of asthma.

Increase consumption of garlic, onions, leeks, celery and radishes helps disinfect the respiratory tract and dilate the bronchi, preventing asthma and allergy.

If you suffer from asthma or other respiratory diseases, or have a tendency to them, it is advisable to avoid the consumption of soft drinks, which usually contain additives such as sodium benzoate, monosodium glutamate and sulfites, which can cause the appearance or aggravate the symptoms of respiratory disease.

Crucifera Vegetables:

These foods belong to the family of leaf cabbage. These are full of fibers and nutrients that help the body cleanse all its toxins. The most prominent members of this food group are broccoli, cabbages of both, red and green variety and cauliflower. Each of these also contain a large amount of antioxidants that are extremely essential for each organ and help remarkably clean the lungs.

The foods that favor the metal element are, in addition to brown rice, many vegetables (cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, watercress, turnip, radish and onion). Ginger root, black radish or daikon, garlic and mustard greens are medicinal herbs for the lungs and the large intestine. Small amounts of spicy flavor also contribute to improve them.
Aerobic exercises, such as walking and cycling, favor the lungs and the large intestine.

The lungs are very sensitive to dairy products and oil. Fritters, milk, yogurt and other fatty or oily foods clog the tiny pulmonary alveoli, preventing full oxygenation of the lungs. If you want to heal the lungs, the diet should contain very little oil and fat.

I want to share with you from my plate, the step by step of what I prepare. a simple dish that anyone can prepare, for me it would be more like a companion of any protein.

The ingredients are the following:

White rice
Leek
Cauliflower
Onion
Basil
Banana

We wash and chop the ingredients, we put them in a pot to sew a few minutes, we talk about the cauliflower.

In a pan, place a tablespoon of olive oil and add the chopped onion and basil leaves, caramelize for a few minutes, with a little salt and pepper, set aside to serve with the rice.

We are going to prepare the rice, the first thing is to wash it very well to eliminate the excess of starch, when it is already very white, we place it in a pot with its corresponding portion of water to cook for a few minutes until it is cooked

Very simple, white rice, caramelized basil with onion, cauliflower puree, boiled plantain.
