Do you count the abolition of slavery amongst the laws that need to be themselves abolished?
The laws that permitted slavery in the first place should also be abolished.

It makes no sense. The laws that permitted slavery were more than 200 years old, and you said that only the ones that were passed in the last 200 years should be abolished. Anyway, I understood your original comment more or less the way you explain it now.
