RE: Is it better to have loved and lost than ever to have loved at all? Ecotrain's QOTW

in #ecotrain6 years ago

do we really have a choice? i was not aware that we could decide to fall in love.

When it happens, it is so unexpected that you are convinced that you will never feel anything like that again. You would be right almost all of the time!

the death of love is always sudden. this can happen because the person you are in love with is no more or not with you any more. it amounts to the same thing.

we can never live in the past even though we may cherish it. Past love is many a time a millstone around one's neck.

unrequited love is even more painful.

so is it better that we love even if we lose what we love? that is like saying, is it better to have a fracture than not have one at all? Or be part of a singular moment than never facing something like it again.

No reasonable human being would want to be hurt. love will cut far more deeply than anything that we have ever felt in our lives.

It depends whether you're talking about romantic love or other forms of love. Past love can hurt, agreed, but I think sometimes it's how we see it. Sometimes we want to live in that golden time and have unrealistic expectations about it.

Sure, we dont want to be hurt,, but my point was that it's very much part of life's inevitability. Everyone gets hurt and everyone grieves - it's impossible to go through life without it, just as it's impossible to go through life without love, and that's what makes us human.
