Our culture in the USA is a glorification of all consumer ways, your value in our system is based on your ability to spend money, money which is largely created through the rape of our mother earth.
This culture of consumerism is not a realistic way of living, extracting value from every living being, and as many surfaces of this earth as can be reached by our extraction industries. 

It's not even in question at this point, we are killing off entire species of plants, animals and insects by our consumerism, we are more concerned with our surface desires than we are with the effects of our behaviors on the world at large, or even our own local communities.
We pollute our air, water, and soil for the sake of economy, making the air un-breathable, the water undrinkable, and the soil un-farmable for the sake of profits, physically dumping toxins into our environment for the sake of profits, profits for a small minority of people who don't suffer the effects of their contamination.

We are more concerned with how much money we can make than whether future generations will be able to survive the environmental ruination we are creating, we are so self centered that we will not change our ways even a little to make the world better, not that our changing would make the difference, we need the mass producers of toxins to be put in check, and soon, or we will be facing an environment so toxic we will actually choke on it.

For most, they would rather dissociate than make an effort to effect change, drinking, drugging and televisioning their minds into an apathetic state which doesn't require clean water or air, a state of ignorance which allows the continuation of immoral and unethical desecration of our planet.

People are not changing, if anything they are feeling entitled to their wealth, despite  the fact that the small comforts they enjoy are earned on the backs of an actual slave class of people who don't have a choice in the matter, miners of rare earth minerals, manufacturers of high tech equipment, producers of clothes, shoes, and foods, devoting their lives to a quality of life which they will never be able to enjoy themselves.

Meanwhile, if you are a member of the slave class, don't dare ask for a better life, don't even consider it, instead go back to your sh*thole country and get back to work, making profits and consumables for your betters.
Your life and the lives of your descendants are forfeit through ecological racism, corporate land ownership and corrupt environmental protection agencies which allow for the wholesale contamination of our ecosystem.
Your place in this system is selected for you, your debt load, your future earnings and spending all calculated by banksters who effect a global ponzi scheme to rob all futures of their resources for the global elites.
