Big Changes In Global Behaviour - The 3 C's Of ChangesteemCreated with Sketch.

Hey Jessitizens of the World

In relative terms, the world has seen a remarkable level of stability with no great wars and the rise of machines and technology making our lives so much better and lifting many of the world's population out of poverty. This "stability" has brought about a level of complacency that things will always go the same way and that as long as it doesn't involve me its okay. We see natural disasters and wars in certain .parts of the world, but we write them off and move on.

All it takes is a few thoughts and prayers and a trending hashtag to satisfy the masses, and we've done our part for humanity, and we can go back to the overconsumption we enjoy today. As the saying goes, if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always get, but this doesn't apply to certain things where the resources are finite, and the theory of diminishing returns comes into play.

It is a case of we do what we always do, and we get less of what we got. The ability of humans not to be able to break certain biases means that we cannot see what is right in front of us as we compare the road ahead with the way behind us.

If we do not course correct external factors, correct things for us in uncomfortable ways.

Cryptocurrency

Fiat money has been abused for years as it has been our silver bullet to solve all problems, as long as we can print more money we will print our way into prosperity or so the theory goes. All we have done is borrowed more production and wealth from future generations in a short-sighted cash grab that will see future generations have to deal with the fallout. All fiat money is on various decline rates to zero, and because of this, cryptocurrency was born as a hedge against it.

We can see its unstoppable power as more people move into the blockchain space each day, and it will change the world in more ways than one.

Climate Change

Regardless of where you stand on this issue, resources are running short, and if we are to continue our way of life and even improve our standard of living, we will need to change the way we produce and distribute energy. If we do not want course correct the world will do it for us, as resources run short you cannot print your way to more oil or more natural gas, money cannot solve a shortage. As competition for resources increases, millions if not billions will die if we do not find alternative means of power generation that can be scaled and made cheaper over time.

Corona Virus

Regardless of the origins of the coronavirus, the outbreak is here and is reaching critical levels with over 100 000 cases reported and the virus looking as if it's speeding up its spread each day. Our fragile world economy is based on many half-truths, and whole lies and Chinas exponential growth came at the expense of centralising a lot of the world's production. China has become an integral part of the world's economy, and this left us openly exposed.

If the virus has taught us anything its that we should be securing local means of production and decentralising more industries to make it more robust and not simply go for the easiest and cheapest option in China due to their economic policies

The coronavirus will put pressure on the world to wake up from a lot of the sedated ways we've been running things and focusing more on profit than on adding value through our means of production.

Change is coming due to these three C's whether you like it or not, it will be sweeping change, and those who prepare for it will be better off once the dust settles.

Have your say

What do you good people of steem think? Do you believe change is coming if you like it or not?

Certainly interested to see this shift take place over the next few year's

Indeed, we’re really going to have to pull our fingers out of our arses since it’s not just one thing it’s a number of things all coming at once! We had enough time to sit around infront of the TV lol

Most likely less than few years @j85063

I would expect very rapid change of the way we live our lifes, the way economies function and the way supply chain is organized

All big power has big money, so that will work together to keep the fiat system working as long as possible. Only when trust is lost will it collapse. This can take a long time.

Climate change though it's already causing many problems and they will increase. As a result governments will start to change things slowly, but unfortunately they will likely not do enough.

Read for instance about the mother of all locust swarms in Africa that started in the desert of Oman.

https://www.wired.com/story/the-terrifying-science-behind-the-locust-plagues-of-africa/

The virus is something that comes around every few hundred years or so. But it shows the weakness of the world economy. I'm expecting to hear from airlines going bankrupt soon.

Indeed, we will only know fiat is worthless when you find out it can't grow your food for you and you actually have to do it yourself and produce. As humans, I think we only change when we're forced to and not when we should and this is the result, but it hasn't affected enough people to have that heart in mouth moment where they want to change. A lot of people are suffering for sure, but it can always be explained away or change the channel. So we will continue to ignore it until we're all affected

Irony in all three "C's" relatively new, one really has to look at history to ascertain why.

Cryptocurrency for future transacting appears an easier way forward in finance, new technology has been needed into FinTech for some time.

Climate Change we need to clean up, however this may still be a 50/50 call with natural changes.

Corona Virus too much negative media, very dubious about this knock-on affect through financial markets, is this being played at a higher level to obtain instability.

@tipu curate

I think there's a sort of balance to nature and when you push it far enough it pushes back with an equal level of resistance and that's why these three C's have surfaced in such a short period of time. We're clearly maxing out on some sort of quotas and throwing equilibriums out of wack

We maxed out long ago in sheer number of people living on earth. Abusing nature is totally boggling, air, sea and land, we supposed to be custodians, not really true look at the way people treat each other.

Something will eventually give!

Even if Corona virus doesn't kill you, you'll still die. People like their lives way too much and turn tiny issues into monumental clusterfucks.

I'm still caught in the middle of climate change; I know it might exist but I don't care so much because I'm really not damaging the climate and if the world actually goes to shit, it will be my great grand children's problem to bear 😆.

Lol, that surely is true, we do often feel that life is a divine right and if we didn't, we wouldn't have survived for so long. I believe we're only as good as the world allows us to be, and when shit hits the fan, those morals go out the window.

Regarding climate change I'm on two fronts here, yes we're fucking the planet over of that I have no doubt and we should stop if we are to not fuck ourselves over down the line, but we are a tiny spec in the planets time in existence and there have been several extinction events during the time. If we do something to exterminate ourselves it's our own damn fault. Its a case of lots of people doing nothing and loving the status quo and you know what, its no less than we deserve.

It is what it is. If everything is going to go to shit, let it go. We can't keep whining over and over again about some shit we could have fixed but didn't.

Great - I also want such a signature

I like your signature @belemo

Did you do it yourself? :)

I didn't. My friend @zord189 makes them.
