Hoarding Money is SelflesssteemCreated with Sketch.

Hoarding money is the most selfless thing a person can do.  That doesn't make it a good thing.  Money is a tool that allows a diverse society with diverse values to collaborate peacefully and effectively.  To pursue money honestly, people must work to serve other people's values and goals rather than their own.  Most people do this so that they can later spend what they've earned, at which point they are served by others.  When you earn money, you further the ends of others within your society.  When you spend money, you influence others in your society to advance your chosen ends.  By earning money and never spending it, a person becomes a passive servant to the will of others, and has no financial influence on the values expressed by society.

Money is the language of consenting adults, while war is the language of brute force.

What if you instead loan money? ;)

Wait does it apply to steem dollars too?

Replace the word money with reputation. Seems similar right?

Would you rather hang out with a guy that has money or a guy that has a good reputation with you?

Yours is an interesting take on the earn/spend dynamics. It makes sense for everybody to earn the most they can, I reckon.

I just use money as a means to end ... can't eat it, and it's not like money will come with you once you die. I earn it to spend it on travel, and usually will book Airbnb / vacation rentals so I can give the money to common people. As well, try to spend the money on small businesses as much as possible to support local economies.
