More on Blogs

I have had a numer of people comment positively about my article on Blogs and how you absolutely must write one. I thank you all for your kind words.
Here are some other points that I should add to give more value to those words.
Keywords are critical to embed into your Blogs to attract people to your content.
Relevant content is how Google rates search engine ranking now, so don’t just fill up your Blog with what you think people want to hear. Really think about what you’re writing.
Think about your specific Industry and what relevant new advancements or trends are emerging in that Industry that would be beneficial to your particular audience.
Depending on the keywords you embed into your Blog, those readers and many more can find you a lot easier while searching. New readers will actually discover you this way.
If your goal is to attract readers to your Blog to sell them a product or service, this strategy is essential, as you really only want to attract the right readers.
People who would genuinely be interested in what you have to offer, as well as your insights, opinions and experience.

You are growing your Brand and as you grow that Brand you need to be thinking about building trust with your audience (which I believe is even more important).
Without the “buy in” or trust from your potential customers, why would they buy from you, as opposed to your competition? Never ever underestimate the value of “buy in”.
Once you earn their trust by proving that you are an authority within your Industry, why would they buy from anyone else?

Another possibility is that those readers will enjoy the relevant content on your Blog enough that they will forward your link to colleagues and friends within that specific Industry. In fact, that should be one of your main goals, so keep the quality high.
There’s no easier way to build your Brand than by having others do it for you.
Increased traffic on your website is what you are working towards after all isn’t it?
You may not update your website very often, so potential customers may not feel a need to come back to your website very often. However, when you udate your Blog, that brings traffic back to your website so they can read that new content.
Success doesn’t usually happen overnight, so have patience and persistance and eventually that success will come.
My best advice for you is to keep it fresh, keep it relevant, and do it regularly.
