Hi Everyone welcome to TRUTH OR DARE. Here in the city recycling our garbage is mandatory by the municipality , if you don't and they catch you throwing out recyclable material you will get a municipal ticket and they check all the time such a funny feeling seeing someone going through your garbage. Since i was a teenager recycling has become a normal function of putting out the garbage. well in the city it makes a lot of good sense after all the paper, metal, and glass can be easily recuperated and reused in other products that can in turn be recycle again and again and can be of considerable savings in time and the natural resources required to produce our modern containers and packaging. Plastic is almost everywhere you look it has so many useful forms it can take but when it's life span or utility is spent we discard still alot into the garbage because it's just not recyclable. when you stand back and think about it it a huge problem that we are all faced with on a daily basis. Myself i think that a recent ban on those little plastic bags just imagine that they have a 1000 year shelf life and while plastic bottles can take 450 years and we can recycle them it is a good thing getting rid of the bags just think of the billions of bags they already have and are not being recycled at all. i think that all this recyclable material should be collected and reused but there are still a lot of material being sent to the dumps and incinerators. Basically all glass can easily be recyclable but we might want to keep the colors separate for a better higher quality of recyclable or reusable materials. you know it wasn't always like this years ago we just threw everything into garbage cans and then with progress the big black plastic bag that we actually still use today, you can imagine huge pits packed and filled with garbage might be either toxic gardens or treasure pit of forgotten times LOL. I recycle everything possible these days i get to watch the bottle treasure hunters you know they open every recycle bin for plastics or glass bottles so they can cash them in happens every week rain or shine :). So do You Recycle ? Please Enjoy play and leave a reply!

TRUTH OR DARE QUESTION # 196 - Do You Recycle ?
DARE: Tell us you have any ideas what to do with your plastic bottles? :)
P.s. Scratch my back and i'll love you back !:)
You're the best!
Thank you @darsico
Oh @darsico ! I've missed your posts, my friend!!!!
Yes, we recycle aluminum cans here.
We have used plastic bottles sometimes for gardening for plants. We live out in the country and sometimes it's hard to keep the animals from getting into the garden so we have to get creative. :)
Hi @jennifer78 yes love the country life, it's not as stressed as city living. it actually would be nice if i could find or make something useful with it for it's just that there is so much of it everywhere you look. space is also at a premium you do not want to start piling it up either the neighbors will start looking at you funny :)
Haha!! I remember when I lived in the city, we had to recycle. It was mandatory. Such a hassle sometimes but if it helps the environment then it's good.
looks like you got a groupie there mah man :p @darsico , here it's all mandatory and slightly overtaxed as everyting in the 2nd most taxed country in europe, you have blue bags for pet / tetra and the likes, you have glass-day once every month, you have paper day once every month, you have green bio day once every month (or once a week in certain periods like spring) and you have yellow bags for the rest. I think there's a minicontainer for chemicals too but that's not used much anymore since every town (well conglomerate of sorts, several decades ago they decided to put towns together in groups , saves a bit on the number of governments you have , which already is ott) and i think there's a special day for big stuff like furniture and the likes (in case you dont have a car or cant get it to the "container-park") ... if you put one wrong thing in your blue bag then they won't take it. If you get caught for dumping it afterwards you pay more than the price :p
all bags are valid in one township only so say i work in brussels i can't just pick some up from the store next to the office, i HAVE to buy them here (tax et al), the green biowaste requires a sticker (thats also town-specific) , the paper can be put out in carboard boxes (no, HAS TO be actually) and the glass in plastic boxes so they can just pick it up and throw it in the mill-back of the truck, but if you put broken windowglass in it they won't take it either, you're supposed to bring that to the container park yourself (something about the speed they have to maintain to get all houses and pointy glass shards are,, well dangerous )
as for the plastic bottles, i try not to buy any but since i dont have a car and i order groceries like water and cola online from the local supermarket (carrefour.be) i'm stuck with lots of plastic because they don't deliver glass bottles (for the same reason i suppose + it can break)
if i were the dictator of environment in hellgium id simply ban all disposable packaging instead of acting all enlightened on "people need to recycle" and get the problem over with in one strike, no more disposable packaging
but that would mean they can't tax it ofcourse so that's Utopia ...
since you seem to be half-regular on my blog there i suppose you already know how much i like it here, but its not like i dont like the country. If i could i would move to like, mongolia, (the least populated place in asia with lots of free nature and ... AND --> no religious bombers :p )
but here is not really the country although it might look so the whole place is overpopulated concrete with a bit of pasture between
tsk, there i go again talking .... thats maybe why i sometimes get mistaken for bi-polar, i come over like a total introvert, until my mouth opens and i turn into a fishwife :pp
thanks for .. well what you do
I REALLY missed your TRUTH OR DARES! I have not been on here for a little while also. You made my night, seeing your TRUTH OR DARE! I hope all is well my Friend! I also recycle. I absolutely love this Planet and the People on it. I strongly feel that recycling is the least that we could do for this amazing Planet. I'm so HAPPY to see you back! All the VERY best! Thanks for another AWESOME TRUTH OR DARE! The Post and the Bottle Bank Arcade so VERY cool! Your Friend @extraterrestrial :)
Truth:
I don't actively recycle - but I do separate my garbage. Avoid plastic or reuse it multiple times and try to used recycled products including paper.
My strategy for plastic bottles is - avoid them as much as you possibly can :-)
Hello.. At my work place, the company already provides recycle bin for plastic, papers and aluminum.. So there only i recycled... But at my hometown we just throw in a one bin. Because there is no one want to send it to the company who want that things..
Have a nice day
Hello! I recycle, with the bottles I made a feeder for my bird
TRUTH: I have been a recycler since childhood, mostly metals, as I learned there was money to be made. My kids think I have taken it to far, as I try to get them to follow my lead. In fact when remodeling the kitchen, a recycling storage area was on the top of my list.
#Truth: i do recycle for theres mostly lots of things which can be re-used and im a person that hates wasting things, for e.g throwing away stuff that can be easily used be of benefit either to urself or to someone else .
#dare: hmmm ive never tried constructing anything before with my plastic bottles, except for once when i made an outside bird food container for the passer by flying birds. but i believe that a lot of things can be made out of it for sure.
Yes I do recycle. I sell it to any recycle shop nearby my house. Plastic bottles can be reused as pot to plant flowers or vegetables, or even can be used as flower decorations hang it on the wall.@darsico, I have wrote about what can we do with plastic bottles link
Your profile is very interesting, Your publication caught my attention because you tell us that in your city it is a duty to recycle, it seems to me that it should be a law in every city in the world. I am from Latin America and here there are no such initiatives and it is unfortunate to see our streets full of garbage and it is also alarming, as this not only speaks ill of our inhabitants, but is the focus of diseases. I would love to see a community in my city at least similar to yours, but for that to happen here, recycling must become law.
