DIY small goldfilled hoops

Hi everyone!

Today, as a jewelry designer, I would like to share something fun with you!

This is my new minimalistic design:

See this little hoop in my ear? I wil show you how to make it!

This is what you need:

The wire I'm using is 1/2- hard, 1 mm thick goldfilled wire. This has a thick gold layer that doesn' t get damaged while working with it.
You start by measuring out 3,5 cm and marking it with your permanent marker and cutting it off .

Then you make sure that one end of each little bar is nice and smooth. ( You file it round.) This end will go in your ear.
Now take your marker and mark off 11mm from the end that you just filed.

Take the 11m bit in between the jaws of your flatnose plier. Move it up to the black line and bend the longer end of the wire down.

Once that's done, put your wire on the benchblock as shown in the example and hit the long end, with the flat side of the hammer. Try to use even strokes while hammering.

When you feel it s flattened enough,
make sure you flatten the other bit just the same amount to get two similar earrings.

To create a nice effect that will catch the light, hammer the flat surface with the round side of your hammer.

Almost done now. It's time to bend the earrings in to shape. Bend it around your permanent marker as shown on the picture. Make sure the 11mm part will stay straight. It might be necessary to help bend the ends round with your flatnose pliers. Filing the end nice and smooth gives it a beautiful finished look.

Voila, your small goldfilled hoops are ready!
